Battle of the Knights 6

Kaydon's P.O.V.

Chaos.

That's what happened right after Kayla passed out. But before she could hit the ground, I lept forward and caught her. I set her down on the ground gently. Then I stripped off all of that cheap armor. Then I picked her up and ran to the doctors office, or "the mini hospital" as people put it. I walked in there, and when the nurse saw us, she ushered me to an open room. I put Kayla on the bed. Then I sat in one of the chairs in the room. The nurse motioned for me to wait.

Why don't any of them ever talk? It must be very lonely here, not being able to talk.

Shannon the doctor walked in. When she saw me, she jumped. Then her eyes narrowed.

"What are you doing here Kaydon? More importantly, what is she doing here?"

"What do you mean?"

She frowned.

"Kaydon, did you forget already? You're healer. You can heal her your self."

Duh! Can't get any stupider than that! I slammed

my hand on my forehead. Then I groaned.

"Oh my gosh. I completley forgot."

She chuckled. I reached out my right hand and touch Kayla's forehead. The white flash came and went, as expected. Kayla sat ubrupty up and looked around till her gaze landed on me. She realxed. Her eyes went back to ther normal grey. Then she finalt spoke.

"What the hell happened?"

"Um, we'll talk about that later. Lets go."

I picked her off the bed. When I put her down on her feet, she stumbled. But I caught her.

"Come on Kayla, lets go to our rooms."

She nodded her head.

"Yeah. That's a good idea."

I supported her as we walked down the hall towards our rooms.

Kayla's P.O.V.

As we walked down the hall, I decided something.

"Hey Kaydon, why don't we go to the library?'

He looked down at me with skepticism. So I smiled. He sighed.

"All right lets go.''

Yes! Point Kayla!

"But, you are going to stay down and not move from your chair."

Shit! Point Kaydon.

"Fine."

He smiled. Damn him and his cute smile! We walked into the library, and we sat down at the closest table to the books. I pulled out my iphone6. I texted Ashley.

Me: hey ash?

Ashley: yeah?

Me: can you help us find books?

Ashley: us?

Me: me and kaydon

Ashley: yeah sure just give me a sec.

"Who ya texting Kayla?"

"Ash."

I looked up. I could see jealousy in his eyes.

"You know, my friend, Ashley."

"Oh OK. That makes sense. I guess."

I could still see the hint of jealousy in his eyes. What? Did he think it was some one else? Something inside of me said he thought it was another guy. Ashley bounced in right in front of us. Kaydon jumped.

"Um, Kaydon, this is my friend Ash, she's a bouncer."

"I already know her."

I don't know why, but I suddenly felt very jealous. Then he added,

"But I don't know what a bouncer is."

Ash smiled. Grrrr.

"That's OK. Bouncing is what we call going from one place to the next."

"So, its like teleporting?"

"Yeah, I guess you could call it that."

He smiled.

"That would be so cool."

I decided to cut in before I killed Ashley with jealousy.

"So Ash, could you help us find some books?"

"Sure thing Kay. What books would you like for me to find?"

"Books on Healers and the Commanders."

When Ashley let to find the books I asked for, I turned to him and asked,

"So, when did you meet Ashley?"

I tied to not sound jealous, but by the amused look on his face, he could tell tthat I was jealous.

"Is somebody jealous?"

"Nope. I am totes not jelly."

Great. when I lie, I start to speak like a 14 year old girl. Damn it. He scoffed.

"Riiight. You are totes not jelly."

Was he mocking me? He better not be mocking me!

"Are you mocking me?"

"I totes am not."

Arg!! Why the hell does he think he can mock me and get away wth it?

"Let me repeat what I said. How do you know Ashley?"

"I wasn't unconscious went Corbyn put me in her car you know."

"Oh."

Damn it! Now my face is probably really red. I put my face in my hands. When Kaydon started laughing, I moved my hands and laughed right with him.

"Don't worry. When you said Ash, I thought you meant a guy. So, I guess I was totes jelly to."

I started laughing harder. he joined in. When Ashley bounced in, she put the books on the table then bounced away. After a little bit, the laughter died down. We each picked up a and started reading. That's when something in the book I was reading caught my eye. I felt my eyes widening.

"What the hell?"
