A/N:this is a one shot that I've been wanting to write for a while, but never found the time to until recently. As usual (y/n) means your name. :) Translations at the bottom.
After the match, (Y/N) tended to the unconscious Frenchman. She hummed as she worked. Her friend Mac, sat by them and looked at her.
"Why?" he asked.
"Why what?" (Y/N) questioned in response.
"Why do you cheer him on when you know he'll lose, clean and patch him up after a match, watch him get KOed, and why do you stay near him when there are plenty more guys who'd gladly accept you?" Mac questioned.
"I see past reputation" (Y/N) answered simply.
Little Mac sighed.
"He's lucky to have someone like you to wake up to care for him every match." Mac stated. You smiled lightly. Little Mac was practically your brother.
"Thanks bro." (Y/N) replied.
"Yeah... Well, I better go catch up with Doc." he realized before hurrying off.
(Y/N) continued to tend to Glass Joe's bruises and cuts. Slowly, Joe regained consciousness. He took a minute to gain his bearings.
"Ce qui s'est passé?" Joe asked. You sat by him. After every match Joe seemed to forget English for a night or two until his injuries healed. You knew that this couldn't be good for him, but did not wish to take one of his passions from him.
"Uh..." (Y/N) trailed having to translate in her head and when she had an adequate response she said "Mac a gagné."
"Oh. Qui m'a bandé?" Joe inquired
"J'ai fait. Je fais toujours." (Y/N) mumbled.
"Merci mon cher." Joe replied.
"Ce n'était rien. Tout pour vous Joe." (Y/N) muttered, blushing.
"Depuis , je serai moins courageux le matin, je dois vous dire ... Je t'aime." Joe said quickly before kissing (Y/N). (Y/N) kissed back.
"Je t'aime trop."
Translations:
Ce qui s'est passé?- What happened?
Mac a gagné- Mac won.
Oh. Qui m'a bandé-Oh. Who bandaged me?
J'ai fait. Je fais toujours.- I did. I always do.
Merci mon cher- Thank you my dear
Ce n'était rien. Tout pour vous Joe- It was nothing. Anything for you Joe.
Depuis , je serai moins courageux le matin, je dois vous dire ... Je t'aime- Since I will be less courageous in the morning I have to tell you ... I love you
Je t'aime trop- I love you too
