A/n: alright so I'm not going through every single detail of the game I'm pretty sure that's a given though this chapter will mostly be some backstory anyway on with the show

As Y/n and Dante entered the large chamber a icy breeze fled from the open doors. The doors themselves opened to an large chamber with torches and ice lining the walls. As the duo proceeded through the chilled room they head to the door until the ice starts to crack revealing the three-headed dog Cerberus guarding the entrance.

Cerberus: The Hell's Gate Guardian

"Leave now, mortal! The likes of you are forbidden in this land. You who are powerless are not worthy to set foot here." said the giant dog using a different head per sentence. Y/n was quiet staring at the large demonic pooch, shaking slightly. "Yes tremble in fear-"

"IT'S THE SLUSH PUPPY!!" shouted Y/n with a surprising amount of joy. This response shocked the guardian, but the shock soon gave way to burning anger as Dante laughed.

"And he talks too! Man er dog you'd be great in a dog show. You'd probably get first place." Taunted Dante.

"You, a mere human, make a mockery of me?" Shouted an enraged Cerberus as he shot a ice blast at the two. Both hunters jumped out of the way of the oncoming blast as it hits the enterance door freezing it shut.

"Easy there Fido!" The red clad hunter spoke.

"And to think I was gonna take you on a walk!"

"You'll regret this you insufferable worms!"

"I highly doubt that!" Y/n said pulling out Helios and Selene

"It's showtime. Come on!" Shouted Dante as he pulled out Ebony and Ivory. Both demon slayers opened fire as Dante ran up to Cerberus, Y/n jumped back landing on the wall using it as a spring board and launching forward. Right before they reached the demon dog he holsters the hand cannons and pulls out Renegade and flips using the momentum to add to the power of the downward swing on the right head. As Y/n swung down Dante jumped unleashed an upward slash on the left head. Y/n landed and quickly launched back into the air and Dante slashed down both hitting the middle head at the same time.

"RAAAHHH! You think your puny attacks can hurt me?! I shall show you true power!!" At this he slammed his paw into the ground causing ice spikes to jut out towards Dante as he jumped. The force of the paw hitting the ground broke some large icicles from the ceiling, before they could hit Y/n he dove out of the way.

"Jeesh if I didn't know any better I'd say you were trying to kill us." said Y/n as he leans on Renegade, as the markings shone brighter as the battle continued. "I think I should kick it up a notch eh. What do you say Dante?"

"I think you already know the answer to that one Y/n!"

"Darkslayer!" Said Y/n as he motions slicking back his hair

"Swordmaster!" Dante snapped as he swung his arm out to the side.

Dante then rushed in using Stinger then slashes up with a jump and combos in the air. Y/n pulls down the lever on Renegade causing the blade to the stored energy to be released as the blade glows (f/c) and he takes a wider lower stance. Cerberus knocked Dante off and rushed forward.

"YOU SHALL DIE!" Y/n launched forward at blinding speeds and swings Renegade once, as he lands on the other side of the Icy guardian. "Executioner slash" he said in a blank voice as hundreds if not thousands of slashes appeared at once causing Cerberus to lose balance. Dante took this opportunity to strike a powerful stinger to finish off the fight sending Cerberus flying back into the wall.
