Featherpaw took famished mouthfuls of a plump rabbit. Battle-training had made her worn out that she was starving when she got back to camp. When she finished, she pushed the scraps away and went to the apprentices den to find her nest. It was her first time sleeping in there because she have been resting inside the medicine den. Jasperpaw was already sleeping in his nest until he heard Featherpaw's approaching pawsteps. "Hi Featherpaw, how was your day back to your duties?" he asked, yawning. Featherpaw looked at the nests," Good, except for the elder's ticks. The mouse bile reeked." Jasperpaw chuckled and joked," Every apprentice has to do it. Owlpaw and I were relieved when you and your littermates became apprentices so less ticks for us." He angled his ears at a nest with ferns, bracken, and clumps of moss," That's your nest. We all made it for you." Featherpaw walked over to the nest and rested in it. It felt so comfy for her bruised body. "Thanks to you all" Featherpaw purred. Jasperpaw tucked his paws underneath his body and curled his tail around his body, making a neat, compact 'loaf'. "I've been wanting to meet you Featherpaw. Your littermates seem nice and enthusiastic to learn." he said shyly and glanced at Featherpaw. Featherpaw and Jasperpaw began to talk about each other until Honeypaw and Nightpaw walked in. They both nosed Featherpaw as she thanked them for the nest and went into theirs beside her and began fixing their nests. Featherpaw wanted to talk to Jasperpaw more but when she looked over at him, he was also getting ready to sleep. Featherpaw looked at her's and saw the clumps of moss weren't neat and it made her feel bumpy. She began to smooth it out and laid down, facing the ceiling. Being a apprentice today was definitely better than being stuck in the nursery as a hopeless kit. She also became more social with the other apprentices then her shy kit hood. Featherpaw soon drifted off to sleep, leaving her thoughts at the end of her tail, until some cat yanked her tail. "Yowl!" Featherpaw grumbled and looked up. She wasn't in her nest. Instead, she was in a endless green meadow and lush forests were around her. The sky was clear blue with the scent of greenleaf. Featherpaw looked around aware of her surroundings. "Featherpaw" some cat said behind her. Featherpaw turned around to see a humongous, white creature with a long neck and small head with round ears and a short tail. It's eyes glittered with stars as it stared at Featherpaw with round, beady eyes. Featherpaw backed away slowly, pulling her ears back. "Featherpaw, it's alright. You don't need to be scared." it said. Featherpaw was even more frightened when it spoke to her. "Y-You can speak-k?" Featherpaw voice trembled. The creature's pelt suddenly shined, blinding Featherpaw until she saw it turned into a cat form. The tom had a snow-white pelt like Poleice and a furry tail. Featherpaw stared at him in shock. "Who are you?" Featherpaw asked. "I'm Polestar, the leader of The New Birth of Thunderclan. You are in Starclan's territory." Polestar replied in a strong voice. Featherpaw's mouth opened. Before, Briarlight, the clan elder, told Featherpaw and her littermates about their descendant, Polestar, who could turn into a 'polar bear'. He was part of The New Birth of Thunderclan and was chosen by his father Firestar to helped restore it with his friends, Emberdawn, Thornclaw, Brightheart, Miraheart, Squirreltail, Owlflight, and Mousefur. Polestar leaned closer to Featherpaw and whispered," Check the medicine den in the herb store." Polestar then touched her nose and Featherpaw woke up from her dream. She was back in her nest inside the apprentices den. Remembering Polestar's order, Featherpaw got out of her nest quietly and walked outside to the medicine den. She peeked inside and saw all three of the medicine cats sleeping. Featherpaw sneaked to the herb store and heard quiet chittering and the stench of mouse bile. She kept her pawsteps light on the ground and slid them carefully so whatever is in there couldn't feel her pawsteps. Soon, her night vision got better and she couldn't believe what she saw. 𝑴𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒊𝒓𝒅𝒔? They were chewing and eating on the herbs and leaves. There was a huge gap in the crack of the rock in the medicine den. Featherpaw let out a yowl, alarming the prey. The prey tried to scurry away but Featherpaw was blocking them from the entrance. "What is happeni-" Spiresight said but stopped as he saw the animals. He got out of his nest and shook Alderheart's shoulder. "Keep them trapped" he ordered to Featherpaw. "Alderheart, wake up!" he yowled in his ear. "What the..." Alderheart mumbled until he saw a mouse coming his way. Spiresight ran towards it, sending it back to the herb store. Lilyheart woke up too and yowled, alarming the whole camp. Spiresight joined Featherpaw and started to kill the prey. Featherpaw saw what he did and copied him. Blazefire came to the entrance of the medicine den up to Lilyheart. "Is there a problem?" Blazefire asked until he saw the dead prey and ruined herbs. "I'll go tell Cloudstar." he said wide-eyed and ran to the cave in the Highrock, where the leader's den was. Cats began to crowd at the entrance of the medicine den.
