Featherlight woke the a cold wind blowing to her pelt. She yawned sleepily and grunted. Other warriors started to wake up too.

"Why is it so cold?" she heard Ambermoon grumble and slowly rose to her paws. Cats grunted and muttered from sleep as a huge mass of wind almost knocked Featherlight off her paws.

"Why in the name of StarClan is there a big hole teared in our den?" Larclaw complained.

 "Who did this!?"

Featherlight nosed her way to the entrance of the den, relieved that she could get out of the commotion but the cold wind from the entrance made her shiver. Before she could warm herself up, warriors began thrusting themselves outside, shoving Featherlight to the side. She stumbled on her paws and leaned towards the ferns of the den. Then, she saw Poleice hurrying to her side and shielded against the cats with his pelt. Featherlight held her breath surprisingly and felt her face reddened. 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒐 𝒄𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒆? Poleice stood his place until they were the last cats in the warrior den. He then finally backed away from Featherlight. Her mind went blank from embarrassment.

"T-Thank you." she finally replied and hurried out of the den, her face hot even in the cloudy weather with freezing wind. Her mind went full of thoughts. 𝑵𝒐 𝑭𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕, 𝒇𝒐𝒄𝒖𝒔! She hissed to herself under her breath. Poleice was...just trying to show a act of kindness. Every clanmate would've did that. Featherlight shooed away her thoughts and quickly groomed herself before going up for patrols. Flywhisker's eyes were dull and sleepy but forced himself to sit up tall.

"Dawn patrols." he began. "Flinchpelt, you take Firecloud, Heathertail, Honeymoon, and Nightbeam to the WindClan border. Owlfeather, you take Blazefire, Finleap, Bristleheart. I will also come. Jasperhaze, you are in charge of taking care of the hole in our den. I would like for that to be patched up. Sparkpelt, Featherlight, Poleice, you guys help him. I also want some of our warriors to exchange the bedding with fresh since we don't have anymore apprentices." Flywhisker side eyed Featherlight and her littermates carefully with an apologetic look in his eyes that he take it as no offense. "Flinchpelt, Cherrynose, go change the beddings. Spotflower, Larclaw, might as well do the Briarlight's ticks." he waited for Larclaw's usual grunt and returned, "Everybody off to your duties until I come back to arrange hunting patrols."

Featherlight groaned. 𝑨𝒏𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏 𝒄𝒂𝒎𝒑! As if Sparkpelt could read her mind, she answered, "Oh I hate patching up dens. If Jasperhaze puts me in patching and folding the ferns duty, I'll literally shred his own ears!" she hissed softly. "I wish I can be out of camp right now!" Featherlight nodded in agreement. She would give the whole fresh-kill pile just to go outside in the deciduous woodland.

"Hey Sparkpelt."a cat called out to her behind them. They turned their heads to see Jasperhaze. "I want you to stay here with Poleice to patch the den. Featherlight and I will go get some ferns from outside." Featherlight nodded enthusiastically.

Jasperhaze flicked his tail to Featherlight for her to follow him. Featherlight caught up with his pace, leaving Sparkpelt furious in a joking way. "I thought you would never pick me!" she exclaimed happily, feeling the soft grass under her paws. "You knew how much I wanted to be outside camp didn't you?"

Jasperhaze chuckled softly. "I probably know you better than any cat." He brushed the tip of his tail on her pelt, staring at her.

Featherlight felt her face hotten. "Wow, there is a lot of ferns here for the den to patch it up." she made a excuse quickly and sprinted off, leaving Jasperhaze twitching his whiskers in amusement. Featherlight thrust herself into a bush and jumped out the other side. She groomed her fur in embarrassment. 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕? she thought during licks. Jasperhaze never acted like that. Quickly getting out of her thoughts, Featherlight sought for ferns and perhaps maybe thorns to cover the den. Featherlight found a patch of the spiky leaves nearby a few moments later and tugged on it. The roots were clearly adventitious by her struggle.
