Azalea POV
rude.
he's messaging someone else.
i'm looking out the window into the gym as a group of guys walk onto the court.
the door behind us bangs open and i spin around, kinda panicking.
it's my brothers. fun. "why aren't you two in class?" Rhys says after he closes the door.
"the teacher was a bitch to Leah, we should tell the school she can't talk"
"or she could just ignore the teachers like we do" Leon chimes in.
i point at him and nod. "as if they are gonna take her seriously. just give it a few days and word will get around that she's our sister. no one will bother her" Vince states.
i leave to boys to their arguing and walk back to the window. looking at the boys in gym class. everyone is running around, following instructions, except for a trio sitting on the side. honestly they remind me of my brothers, ignoring the teacher and doing their own thing.
"Azalea". i'm drawn back to the conversation taking place behind me when someone calls my name. "yeah?" i sign.
"Chase said you won't take your hoodie off."
"people stare at me enough already. last time you came to school you didn't have a sister. i'm already weird, they don't need to know i have a broken arm" i write in my notebook.
"who cares. we have your back, and i know it's against the rules. but if you want to make a scene and use those strong fucking kicks, we got your back sis. Devan told us about your old school, people were fucking scared of you. " Rhys says, holding my shoulders.
i roll my eyes and smile. ok then.
the bell goes and i look at the phone Rhys lent me and we all make our way to our next classes. i have none of my brothers in my next class so here i go.
i walk into the class and sit at the back, pulling my notebook out.
"hey, you must be new, i'm Kelly." the girl next to me chirps holding out her hand.
"Azalea" i write before shaking her hand
"can you like.. not talk" she whispers.
"nope i got in an accident when i was little. destroyed my vocal chords" i write back.
"my brother is deaf, i know sign. do you?" she asks quietly.
"yeah, i do" i sign back
"nice, we are going to be best friends, i know it" she squeals excitedly making me laugh slightly
"why are you wearing a jumper? its like soooo hot" she groans.
"idk just felt like it" i shrug
"ha mood, if i could i would be wearing this like super comfortable sweatshirt i just bought." she says.
we are going to be friends Kelly.
at the end of class the bell rings and i grab my stuff and get ready to leave. "hey Azzy, come sit with me. i'll introduce you to my friends" she says, grabbing my hand and pulling me out of class.
what is with people and dragging me out of class.
we make it to the cafeteria and i see so many people. my brothers and some other people i don't know sit at the back, the boys from the gym on another table away from them. Cheerleaders, nerds, jocks. you know, the typical school groups.
Kelly drags me over to a table with a bunch of other people on it. "hey guys, this is Azalea. she's new here, can she sit with us?" kelly says, taking a seat.
