Ares POV
i look across at my 'sister' and can see her writing on Devan's hand using her finger
wtf is she doing?
i don't trust her, there is something she isn't telling us.
i watch her out of the corner of my eye and see her lean her head on his shoulder, her movements slowing down.
her breathing evens out and she falls asleep.
"what the fuck was that thing with your hand?" i yell quietly at Devan so i don't wake her up.
"oh she doesn't talk, she has this giant scar on her throat overe her vocal chords so she uses sign language but none of us speak that so she was writing on my hand, i learnt all about her..... Oh crud" he trails of
"what?" my dad asks, prompting Devan to continue.
"she asked me not to say anything. shit, the first thing she trusted me with and i told you guys. you can't say anything! not until she tells you, please, please, pleaseeeee i want her to trust me" Devan say dramatically
i roll my eyes and the car hits a pot hole making us all jump in our seats.
i see Azalea's head roll backwards and hear my dad gasp.
i pause and look at her throat.
jesus christ, the scar is huge
i will murder the poor bastard that dared to hurt my baby sister.
i reach over and wrap my hand around the back of her neck to cradle her head, holding her head in a comfortable position before pulling her into my side.
she wriggles a little bit before snuggling into my side, she lets out a quiet and content sigh.
i let out a low chuckle and feel her tense against my side, before she jolted upright and blinked slowly.
she looks over at me and i smirk, "good morning princess, sleep well?" i ask and she looks at me blinks slowly a few more times before she leans back against her seat.
trying to fight off the tiredness she keeps blinking, looking down i see her playing with her thumbs.
we all sit in silence for a few minutes before i see her typing on her phone.
i try and get a glance at her screen but I'm cut off when she moves her phone over to Devan.
"oh umm, about..... right............now!" he says as we pull into our estates drive.
when the car stops i open my door and climb out, turning back and offering Azalea my hand.
she looks up at my hand and paused, glaring for a second before she slipped her hand into my hand.
Jesus her hand is tiny, i could crush it so easily.
no stop, i would rather die a thousand deaths than let any pain come to her.
she tries to pull her hand from mine but i clasp my fingers around hers.
"it's uhh... it's good to have you back Azzy, we.. i really missed you" i say nervously
she rolls her eyes and yanks her hand from mine.
she glares at me with such intensity and coldness in her eyes.
what happened to the sweet little girl she was when she was little.
what happened to make her like that?
