A House Divided

Phase Three

Ruby's P.O.V.

I followed Jasper out the door and into what seemed to be the living room. My feet were cold against the wooden floor.

The rest of the girls followed me. I walked with Jasper through the main door into a large kitchen. It was a huge, all white and stainless steel kitchen. Nothing looked like it had been used. Jasper opened up the fridge and pulled out a bottle of beer. She hit the bottle against the counter, the cap popping off with ease.

I heard a gasp behind me. It was Sapphire.

"What are you doing?!" She yelled.

"I'm drinking a beer. If you got a problem with it go sit your ass down somewhere else and leave me alone." Jasper retorted, taking a seat on a stool. she placed her elbows on the counter as she drank her beer.

"We don't know where we are, we don't know who took us and your drinking a beer that could be laced with god knows what!!!" Sapphire yelled even louder.

"Yeah, basically. Truthfully I think you might need this more than me." Jasper said getting out a new beer from the fridge. She held it out to Sapphire.

I stepped in front of Sapphire and took the beer from Jasper. I held onto it I might need it, after all I had been through. I felt like I needed something to relax with.

"Ruby....What? Where are we going?" Sapphire said as I pulled her out of the room.

No one followed us.

"Listen, I know you might think that this beer is tainted, but one of the rules is no fighting and after what Maxwell did to Jasper, think about what he would do to you." I said, holding Sapphire's hand.

Sapphire was so small. She wasn't like Jasper at all. Jasper could take a hit like that, but not Sapphire. If Maxwell keened her in her face she would be out like a light.

Sapphire stared at me in shock. Her blue eyes were petrified about something. Wait, Sapphire didn't have blue eyes. She had deep green eyes like Pearl's.

"Ruby....Your....eyes.....They're...Red.... Blood Red....." She said, holding my face in her hands.

"Saph, your eyes.... They're blue.. Like ice blue..." I said dropping the beer from my hand.

"What's wrong?" Pearl asked, walking up to us.

"Your eyes, too. They're blue." I said pulling away form Sapphire.

"No, No. I have green eyes. And you have....you have.....You...Red....eyes.." Pearl said hesitantly.

"Guys!!! Get In Here, NOW!!!!" I yelled taking a step towards Pearl.

Her eyes were cold, they could freeze a forest if they wanted too.

They weren't normal, they weren't her.

They didn't go with her long brown hair. They were off. They were someone else's eyes entirely.

Amethyst and the rest came rushing into the room. Jasper stood, the one beer barely taking any effect on her. I cringed when I saw the sad truth. Jasper's eyes had changed from blue to a a dark yellow orange. Peridot's eyes were green. Amethyst had deep purple eyes. Rose's had changed into pink pools, yet Lapis's eyes stayed the same.

"What's wrong?" Peridot asked.

"Your EYES!!!" I yelled pointing to them.

They gazed at each other. Each face frightened by what they saw.

"Are my eyes different?" Lapis asked, curiosity and fear in her voice.

"No." Rose said looking down at Lapis.
