A House Divided

Phase Eight

Jasper's P.O.V.

I cringed hearing Lapis scream. It seemed every few minutes or so another person was crying and begging for help. I would gladly help Peri or Lapis. Even Rose.....

I pounded on the door, waiting for it to open. I yelled as a few tears hit the floor. My best friends, my family.. They were dying or hurt and I couldn't save them.....Just like before....

Again I slammed my fist into the door. This time, the door opened and I stood face to face with the robot who beat me before.

"Round Two." I growled, throwing my fist into the side if his face. Maxwell stayed up as I backed away, wincing in pain. It hurt, but I've lost most of the feeling in my hands as it is. It didn't hurt that bad.

"Stop. You'll injure yourself." Maxwell said, a sense of worry in his scratchy voice. "You hurt them...All of them...." I charged at him, my fists coming down down at him in rage.

He caught them with ease and flipped me over, knocking the wind out of me. I coughed as he sent a hard punch into my gut. I coughed and gagged harder, blood in my spit.

"That all you got?" I stammered.

"Please....They still want a warrior...Not a pound of flesh." Maxwell stated.

I growled again and tried to stand. Maxwell held me down by my neck.

"As a Jasper you need to be able take pain. Mentally and physically....Emotionally too." He grabbed my nose as I struggled against him. With a crunch he broke it and I screamed. I winced as my eyes watering from the clean break.

I shuddered as he began carving out a diamond in my face. More tears fell as I pushed against him. Maxwell's metal frame held me down... I was immobilized.
With a sigh he wrapped my head in a bandage. I could barely see through the gauze as Maxwell left. A small hobble in his step as he walked.

"At least I made a dent." Sadly I spoke, crawling onto my orange sheets, bleeding myself to sleep.
