"transgender?" jaemin asked. y/n looked down, fidgeting with his fingers as he nodded slowly.

"i'm sorry.." he muttered. jaemin's brows furrowed.

"what are you sorry for?"

"just.. i don't know, not telling you?"

jaemin sighed.

"don't apologize for a thing like that. if you weren't comfortable enough to tell people then it's perfectly okay." he assured. y/n nodded as he sniffed lightly. jaemin's eyes were full of sympathy and understanding, something y/n wasn't very used to.

"so.. you're okay with it?" he asked hesitantly. jaemin grinned at him.

"how could i not be? we're family, y/n. i'm not just gonna hate you for something that can't be helped," he replied. y/n smiled and nodded again.

"y/n, are you scared of us?"

y/n's eyes widened. he'd been avoiding it, but he sort of was.

"i dunno.. maybe? it's just that you're all cis and even after knowing you for years i find you all intimidating sometimes and i didn't want you to find out and then not accept it.."

jaemin frowned at what he was hearing. he hated that his friend had to worry about a thing like that.

"we aren't like that. being in a group or band is like a commitment. to your job, your fans, and your members. i promise that when you decide to tell the others one day, they'll accept and support you without a single doubt."

y/n finally looked up at the male in front of him, who had a sweet smile on his face.

"thank you," he said a bit shyly. jaemin nodded and quickly bounced up from the bed.

"and as for the 'intimidating' part? i'm just gonna say that chenle was like, really scared of you around debut just because he thought you were cool. you're pretty intimidating to us too, y/n." he said as he pointed a finger at the other. y/n laughed softly.

"well hopefully, that's not the case anymore. i don't want anyone not being comfortable with each other."

jaemin nodded in agreement as he watched y/n take a deep breath. what just happened was completely unexpected, but he was finally out to someone. someone who wasn't just the company because it was mandatory, he was out to someone who mattered. and it felt good.
