the dream dorm was filled with excitement as the boys swarmed around their returning group member. however, y/n was secretly pretty nervous as he was about to come out to them.

"we missed you!!" chenle yelled loudly as they all centered y/n in a group hug. y/n chuckled, taking in the affection of the others.

"i missed you guys too." he said with a warm smile before they separated from the hug.

leaving y/n's bags by the door momentarily, they all went to sit together in the common room. y/n was sort of ready to come out then and there, he just wanted to get it over with already.

"so you're completely over your injury?" jisung asked worriedly. y/n looked down as he let out an exasperated breath.

"about that.."

the boys looked at him in confusion, the boys who didn't know his secret, that is. renjun looked at him a bit surprised, not knowing he'd tell them this early. but he was going to support whatever his boyfriend was ready for.

"the injury thing was a lie.." y/n continued, "i'm actually um.. transgender. the time i took off was for my surgery and i stayed at my sister's the whole time. i'm sorry for not telling you, i just wasn't ready. but while i was recovering i had a lot of time to think, and i don't want any more secrets. i'm a transgender male."

it was silent. little tears had begun to prick at y/n's eyes as renjun squeezed his hand for some comfort. the others definitely looked surprised, jeno and jaemin doing their best to act the part with renjun.

"well i mean, of course we support you and still love you." donghyuck said. y/n nodded and smiled.

"uh.. what exactly does that mean though?" jisung asked. y/n sighed and resituated himself in his place.

"it basically means that i was born and assigned as one gender, but i identify as the opposite."

"yeah, isn't it where your identity doesn't align with your body?" chenle asked. y/n nodded with an impressed smile, then looked back at jisung.

"oh.. so it's like you were trapped in the wrong body all your life?" jisung asked. y/n nodded again.

"that sounds horrible.."

"but now he's all transitioned and the most handsome boy ever!!" renjun said happily as he messed up y/n's hair. y/n smiled and just looked at the other, grateful for having such a perfect person in his life.

"but anyways, i've decided i'm coming out to the public soon.. i have a meeting tomorrow to discuss how it's going to go." he added a bit nervously.

"awh, i'm sure it'll go fine. czennies will love you whether you're trans or cis." chenle said assuringly. y/n nodded before jisung cut in.

"cis?"

"so y/n is transgender because he identifies as the opposite gender he was assigned at birth. the rest of us would be cisgender because we identify as the same gender we were born as. but regardless, we're all still male." jaemin explained. y/n looked at him a bit surprised, he didn't know jaemin knew that much.

"ohh, okay. i didn't know that." jisung said a bit bashfully. jaemin smiled and ruffled the younger's hair.

"but now you do!"

y/n looked at renjun again, who's eyes were currently on jaemin as he finished speaking. it was crazy to him how something as simple as the boy's presence could give him the courage that he needed.

"also uh.. renjun and i are dating." y/n said confidently. renjun's face went red as the room filled with astonishment.

"what??" donghyuck yelled as he covered his mouth. renjun giggled and nodded.

"that's GAY !!" chenle screamed happily as he bounced up off the sofa.

"i believe that's the point, le." mark joked. chenle just giggled in response as they all cooed over the new couple.

y/n looked back at his boyfriend again and placed a gentle kiss on his temple. the other blushed again at the contact before the pair continued catching up with their members.
