""Elijah! Elijah!" she muttered to herself as she searched frantically for her son. "This boy gets better and better at hiding every time." She hurried across the hall, looking for the half-naked boy. "Eli, come on, dad's going to be home soon," she called out, peering into the kitchen.

"Fine then, I guess I'll have to drink all your juice boxes," she added playfully, hoping to entice the boy out of hiding.

Suddenly, she heard a gasp coming from the highest cabinet where she stored all the expensive cutlery she never used. She opened the cabinet doors and found a green-eyed boy staring back at her cheekily. She sighed, relieved that nothing was broken, but she didn't even want to know how he got up there.
Just then, Eli moved his legs, pushing all the glasses and expensive plates to the floor, shattering them into a million pieces. "That's it! You're grounded. Go get dressed, or I swear by the moon you'll see your juice boxes through commercials only!" Already accustomed to her threats, the green-eyed monster ran away laughing, as if he had not just undone three hours of cleaning, and Susan was the crazy one. Susan loved being a mum, but she couldn't wait for werewolf school to start.
She felt tense at the thought of the wear wolf school. It was comical to think that the future leader of the shape shifter race was hiding all morning to avoid getting dressed. She lived in a separate home from the palace, which was almost as grand. However, it did not hold the same history and vintage setting as the palace. It was her idea to live away from the palace for safety and privacy reasons, and also to give her son a normal upbringing.
She finished cleaning the mess and went on to look for her little troublemaker.
Kayden was returning home from a trip with the alphas where they discussed the growing issue of the rogues' rebellion against the supernatural leaders. The rogues, unlike pack wolves, are wild and savage, lacking humanity, much like vampires without their souls or witches enslaved by dark magic. This is why wolves prefer to stay in packs, to preserve their human side.

Recently, the rogues have become even more dangerous, banding together to attack neighboring kingdoms, such as the vampire's. This has puzzled everyone, as the rogues must have a common leader, someone who can control the most vicious creatures and unite them in an unnatural way to attack powerful kingdoms. Whoever this leader is, it's bad news.
Susan was jolted out of her thoughts by an eerie silence in her home. Her house was never quiet; ever since her son was born, he had been constantly breaking things, throwing things, screaming, or chasing something. In other words, he never ran out of creative ways to test her sanity..
"As she rushed up the stairs, she called out for Eli, her son. There was no response. She called out again, this time practically screaming his name. Normally, she would consider her reaction an overreaction, but with rogues and an evil mastermind targeting supernatural leaders, she knew that her son was a valuable target. She followed his scent until it led her to the opening of the woods and out to the neutral territory. There, between panicked sobs, all she could manage to say was, "Eli."
