; "So you have a meeting tomorrow at 8:00 am with General Kane about....well training shit.Oh! and also..."
"Do we have to do this now? God! You're much harder to ignore than I thought Blake," I said rolling my eyes.
"Alright! Alright! I'll just ruin your morning tomorrow after you... You know..." He said with a sleek smirk that I badly wanted to smack off his face.
I unconsciously started smiling at the thought of my mate, Susan.
I cannot wait to just get home and...
"Dude! You know the mindlink is on right ?" he said waving his arms around.
As soon as I arrived home, I sensed a strong wave of panic, anger, sadness, and despair. However, I quickly realized that those emotions were not mine. When I entered the throne room, I found my wife Susan shouting orders to the guards with great intensity. She demanded them to find someone without any harm. The guards left hastily, and I could not blame them as my wife can be quite intense. Once she saw me, she fell into my arms and started crying uncontrollably. I comforted her by gently rubbing her back and whispering sweet words in her ear while occasionally placing kisses on her temples."Kayden, he's gone. I can't find Eli. He was getting ready to meet you, and then he just disappeared. I am so sorry," she said between sobs.

My heart felt like it was in my throat. My only son and the heir to my throne was missing. I kissed Susie's head and pulled away from her.
"Attention everyone! I want all qualified guards to be on high alert patrolling the borders. The remaining guards will conduct a thorough search within the borders. Only the ELITE members are allowed to venture past, in case of necessity. Until we find my son and the future king, no one sleeps and no one rests. I expect everyone to understand the gravity of the situation and act according to it. Let's find him!
"Yes Alpha," they said in unison as they dispersed. I turned to look at my mate who had sorrow and regret written all over her face ."Don't worry, we'll find him," I cooed at her. "And if we don't? I would never forgive myself," her voice broke at the end. Before I could say anything she turned and left. I wanted so badly to run after her and comfort her, to hold her in my arms and stroke her hair while she shyly played with her thumbs like they were the most interesting thing, but I had work to do. This wasn't the time to be her mate, this was the time to be her king. I was going through the pack security cameras when Kane mindlinked me "Your majesty, we've detected movement in the southwest border, permission to approach."

"Bring my son back alive,"
"Understood."
Twenty minutes passed and still nothing from Kane. All this anxiety was making me sick. I wanted to be with my mate. This was not how my return was supposed to go
"What the hell is taking so long!" I found myself screaming in my office ." Your majesty,"

"I think you should see for yourself," that was all he said before shutting off the mind link, leaving me confused and already assuming the worst. I grabbed my jacket and cursed to myself before heading out
"I'm coming too," I turned around to see Susan armed with a crossbow and some guns.
"You know that's not gonna happen," "I said I'm coming, if anything happens to Eli and he needs me, I WILL be there." She said with such finality I almost shuddered. " Sue c'mon you..." "Let me see him Kayden," she was growling at me. I must admit, I didn't hate this side of her but I didn't have time for an argument so I caved.

I looked at Susan and I could tell she was just as astonished as I was." Eli," Susan decided to break the silence but all she got was a growl. She walked over to him and smacked the back of his head.
"You disappear the whole day without telling anyone, send the whole kingdom into a frenzy, break my very expensive dishes and you dare growl at me, young man!" She said in one breath. He ruefully looked down and muttered an ' I'm sorry 'Yeah right. My son took after his mother very mischievous but never ran out of cute and cunning tricks to weasel their way out of problems.
"Mom we have to help her," he said looking at the pregnant mess lying beside him. "Why?" She asked looking at the woman quizzically. "We just have to otherwise I'm not leaving without her,"

"Please Mom," he pleaded tugging at her jacket. I was taken aback. In all my years of being this man's father, I had never heard him beg not even for his juice boxes. I assumed he got his ego from me. Whoever this woman was, whatever she was up to, and whatever Vudu she had on my son, I was going to find out. I took a look at the strange woman she had an unreadable expression and her eyes held a certain darkness. Whatever her story was my son was part of it now. I was going to find it out even if I had to rip her throat out.
