A loud excited shriek interrupted the tour the owner was providing to the passengers, even though the two girls were in their world and not paying attention. With a surprised stare from her sweet and big brown eyes, Kayo spoke.

"It's you, Mr medicine seller! He was the one who exorcised the ghost cat from my home!" The girl was pointing at him as if her screams weren't loud enough to catch everyone's attention.

"Are you a sorcerer as well, Sir?" The tall man with pink and purple robes asked with his arms crossed.

"Huh? Wait, are you a sorcerer?" Shinju asked, taken aback by the sudden question. After receiving a nod as a response, her eyes lit up with admiration. She moved closer to the man. "That's so cool! Can you teach me something?!"

Genyousai blushed from having a lady in such a close range. He would have liked to say more about his statement, but another slow and cold voice made him shut his mouth before he could articulate a word. Pissed off, he passed the turn to talk to the mysterious man while he sulked.

"Just a medicine seller, you see." When the blond man stopped talking, his eyebrows were furrowed. He didn't seem content with Shinju's actions.

After some minutes, the medicine seller went to the main floor to continue with the tour. Kayo was walking next to him and talking eagerly, but the man was eyeing the dark-haired girl. He was still irritated from her breaking the order he gave which was to not be seen. Yet, something inside of him sensed that breaking the rule wasn't the only thing bothering him.

The group was separated. The owner, his helper, and the minstrel went to a room with a compass. And thus, Tamon began explaining all about the current path they were going to take to get to Edo, the capital. Even though the helper said there would not be any stars that night to aid them, the old man proudly explained that the compass pointing northeast was the only thing they needed to arrive at their destiny in no time. The third person in the room, Genyousai, stored that information in his head suspiciously.

"If an Ayakashi or something shows up again, will you kill it with your Sword of Exorcism, Mr medicine seller?" "Why?" "W-why? You know!" "An ayakashi is something that simply should not exist. And yet, there are millions of Ayakashi. I could try to kill them if I wanted, but I would never get them all."

The Bakeneko trio were doing a stroll throughout the boat. While Kusuriuri and Kayo were chatting about Ayakashis, Shinju fantasized in her head about learning more about the occult. She was glad to be in the same place as two people who knew about the topic. In fact, for her, it was a blessing sent from above.

"Isn't that what they say about gods?"

"It's similar." The blue-eyed man's voice was slow as always, but a bit of his pique left from his voice. Since he didn't use a lot of expressions, mainly because it clashes with the missions he has to do, the easiest way for him and for the people he interacts with is by the tone of his voice. Both girls knew when he was being playful or sarcastic by the heated conversations he had with Odajima, but the rest of them were kind of a puzzle that they had to solve. The mysterious aura he was always surrounded with made it harder for them to unravel, but the medicine seller preferred that. If nobody knew who he was, fulfilling his job would be easier.

"That's not true of a Mononoke, though." He caught the attention of both girls. The two friends looked at him, but he didn't reciprocate the stare. He was eyeing another entity that was invisible to the eyes of a simple mortal. There was a fish with a leg instead of a tail in another version of the room emitting a sound with its mouth. It was true that they couldn't see it, but Shinju heard it.
