Part 14: What is Happening?

Y/N woke up in a cold sweat, he was panting heavily, and his throat felt so dry. He used his quirk to grab his bottle of water he had across the room on his desk and chugged it- wait, used his quirk?

Y/N: What the hell is going on?! ADAM!

Adam: Yes sir? What is it?

Y/N: Why am I... erm... "casually" using the quirk I just absorbed?

Adam: Sir? What do you mean? You've passed out right after you absorbed the quirk and convulsed for an hour. My body was in maintenance, so I couldn't help you sir. I'm terribly sorry.

Y/N: Truly? Bring up the footage from... when I passed out.

Adam: Right away sir.

Adam then projects the footage from when Y/N first absorbed the shadow quirk. Y/N fell on the ground, then started violently shaking, inky darkness pooling out from him. A robotic arm quickly straps a bracelet to Y/N, but the ink-like ooze keeps oozing out of him... then suddenly stops dead in its tracks. Slowly retreating back into Y/N, while the bracelet that was on his wrist starts glowing red... then stops glowing all together.

Adam: If I may speak for myself for a second sir...

Y/N: Go ahead Adam.

Adam: I have a theory of what happened there. I think it was your body accepting the quirk, fully making it yours, but I am at a loss for why using the quirk like it was "second-nature" for you.

Y/N: Hmm... Plausible theory Adam, very interesting...

Y/N: Another one could be that the author didn't want to give time to a massive training montage, skipping to the entrance exam when the montage is over.
[Nar: I swear to god... break the wall one more goddamn time and I'll... do something drastic, I can't think of something now, I'm too mad!]

Adam: ...sir, with all due respect, what the hell are you talking about?

Y/N: Nevermind it Adam, don't worry about it.

Adam: Alright then sir...

Y/N: Now, I must check up on Midorya, haven't seen him for a hot minute..

Adam: Okay sir, enjoy your day.

Y/N: I probably will Adam, keep working on whatever you work on while I'm gone.

Adam: I will sir.

Y/N walks out of his room to see its right after his mother left for work, which is in the morning, so he had time to kill before visiting Izuku. So, with no other ideas to put in action, he put on the news.

The news had nothing important going on, just the everyday hostage situation going on bere and there, luckily nothing popped up about any criminals or homeless person losing their quirk, so his cover isn't blown.

Well thats funny... one of the hostage situations has a couple hero's at the scene twiddling their thumbs doing nothing while the villain is holding a hostage which looks oddly similar to Y/N's mother...

"Shit"

Y/N dashed out the door (literally) to go to the location of where his mother is being held hostage. Using his quirk in the light where he half expected it to be weaker, but still went as fast as he could to the scene.

There was a bunch of people and about 3 hero's not doing shit, standing around like some fucking useless bastards... Y/N jumps on a building and just watches, slowly, but unknowingly covering himself in an inky mess of shadows through anger before jumping from one roof to the next before getting closer to the villains location, stalking him like a spider to a fly, or more commonly known as, a predator to their prey...
