A younger version of Elizabeth is in the very cabin they were in. She's crying at the table with her head placed down. Alastor can freely move, but he knows the child can't see him. She cries silently. He feels sorrow for the poor thing. He takes a look around, noticing that nothing much changed when she was younger. He wanders around, looking outside to see the sun covered with grey clouds.

"W-why.." He hears from in the kitchen. He strides back to the kitchen, seeing young Elizabeth hop off the table towards the bedroom. He follows closely behind, realizing there is no one else here. She sits on her bed, wiping away her tears.

"Happy birthday to me... yay.." She mumbles. The ring on her finger catches his attention. He needs to go back further into the past.

He turns around to leave but he hears a small hiccup behind him. He sighs, turning back to the very sad Elizabeth. He walks over to her, holding her cheek. She doesn't see him but her demeanor changes. It's as if she holds her breath, realizing he's there.

"Happy birthday darling." Alastor whispers to her. She goes silent as he watches her slightly smile before yawing to the laying down. He nods in approval, closing his own eyes to work his magic.

Alastor tries to go further back, but it's as if something is stopping him. A barrier of some sort. That's weird, because only powerful overlords and Lucifer himself only have the magic to that. This just proves to him more that she has definitely been around demons before.

He struggles to go further back, only stopping slightly when he hears a whimper beneath him. He opens his eyes to see Elizabeth still laying on his lap with tears falling down her face.

"Hmm.." He mumbles, wiping away her tears. He lets her calm down before going back into her mind.

Around him he sees red. Lots of red. So this is what's stopping him. He pushes further through the red void only to be met with a much stronger barrier. But what's most shocking is that this is his magic.

"How is this possible?" He questions himself. Why is it his magic not letting him through? Why is it here in the first place? This is very interesting indeed.

He speaks out loud his undoing spells, attempting to break the barrier, struggling himself. He hears the shatter, indicating it has broken and the red disappears. Alastor's head begins to pound. He holds back his yells. He's never felt this much pain. He hears screaming beneath him, realizing she too, can feel it. Retreating out her mind, the pain goes away.

He holds Elizabeth close to him, stroking the back of her head. The sobs in his chest reduce to soft whimpers. Some sick part of him enjoys those soft whimpers of pain, but he pushes those thoughts aside as he needs to make sure she gets rest. It's exhausting for the both of them when someone rummages through their memories.

He takes her to the bedroom, placing her down as she clings to him, refusing to let go. He smiles softly at her, laying down beside her. Might as well get some sleep himself, he thinks to himself.
