Chapter 17

The next morning I woke up before the rest and started my morning routine. After what I heard last night I wanted to be alone for a moment. I never thought she would say something like that. I knew she wasn't exactly okay with it when I told them but I also didn't think she would react that way. She was starting to be like a close friend, almost like family and to hear her say that, all of that. It hurts. 

Knock knock

I  finish up and get out of the bathroom, stopping in my room before heading out to the kitchen to grab something to eat. I get some cereal and sit at the table to read and eat while the rest finish getting ready. One by one the members come out and get something for themselves. I do my best to act like I didn't overhear anything when the rest of my roommates come out and greet them a good morning like usual. 

Once the managers arrived we all hurried to finish getting the last of our things and headed into the cars. Luckily I was in the car with Jeongyeon, Sana, Mina and Momo today, so there was no need to interact with Dahyun. Bet she's glad about that. I tried to relax in my seat but all I could do was remember what I heard her say. She probably thinks I'm disgusting or something. 

"Are you okay?" Sana asked me. "You seem a little restless."

"Hm? Yeah, just tired and can't get comfortable," I said.

"Here, just lay against me," She said, getting a small pillow and putting it on her shoulder.

"Thank you unnie," I said as I leaned on her and closed my eyes to try and relax a little. She started rubbing my arm and that helped me a little. It's good to know that not all of them thought like Dahyun.

Soon enough we got to the company and we were taken to two different vocal rooms to do our vocal warm ups before we were led to the recording studio. Today was a recording day for the title track and maybe a b-side if we have time. If we do a B-side that means I might get to help the producers. 

"Hello girls," JYP asked as he entered the room and took a seat at the computer.

"Hello," We all said as we bowed.

"How are you all doing? All good?" He asked us and we all nodded in response. "Well I'm sure you are all aware that we are doing the title track, Cheer up today along with the B-side, Headphones On. Now that means, Ana, since you did the majority of the song on your own and divided the parts I have decided to let you be the lead producer on this. Of course I will be here to help you but you will have the final word."

"Woo!" All the members cheered for me at his announcement. 

"Thank you," I said with a shy smile.

"You deserve it, after all the work you put into the song," He said with a proud smile. "Now let's get to work, Nayeon you are up first." With that said Nayeon got up and headed into the booth while the rest headed out to the dance room a floor below. 

"So Ana, how do you feel about producing later today?" Jihyo asked me as we were stretching.

"Nervous," I said.

"Really? I thought you'd be excited," Jeongyeon said.

"Yeah me too," Chaeyoung added.

"Well, if I'm being honest I didn't think I was going to get this chance for another 5 years at least. I mean I just started composing and everything is still pretty new for me. So I don't know, having to produce and get the chance to help direct is nerve wracking. Like what if I don't know how to explain things to you guys and I end up messing up the whole thing?" I said rambling on. "I just don't want to, I don't want to fuck up."

"I've seen you in the studio, you'll do great," Cheayoung said.

"Yeah plus we all heard the demo and JYP is going to be there to help too. You have nothing to worry about," Jeongyeon said.
