The sun was shining when you woke up. A cool breeze slid through the open window, caressing your bare skin. You sighed in content and opened your eyes, weightless with the knowledge that it was your day off, and you could stay in bed all day if you wanted. A tempting thought if not for the man sat on the side of the bed, tying his shoelaces, unaware that you were awake yet. It was no fun spending all day in bed... Alone, at least.
Smirking to yourself, you pounced, wrapping your arms around Owen and pressing a kiss to the side of his neck. "Good morning," you purred, running your hands down his bare chest and pressing closer into his back.
He chuckled and put his hands over your own, turning his head so he could kiss your face lightly. "Morning. You keep this up, and I'm not gonna make it into work today."
You hummed and grazed his ear lobe with your teeth. "That's the idea."
Faster than you could track, Owen had flipped around to face you and was kissing you hard on the mouth, laying you down on the bed. You kissed him back and ran your hands over his back, feeling the muscles moving beneath his skin. He trailed kisses down your throat and to your chest, your back arching slightly and a gasp slipping from your lips. Owen chuckled and moved back to your mouth, kissing you again before pulling back just enough so he could whisper to you.
"We'll finish this later," he promised and rolled off you, getting ready for work again. You pouted for a moment and then rolled onto your front and watched him get dressed. Once he had a shirt on, you stood up and went to him, smoothing down his collar before stretching up on your toes to kiss him.
You felt his smile against your mouth, and you pulled back and looked up into his face. "I love you, Owen Grady."
His eyes softened and he squeezed your hand. "I love you too, Y/N Y/L/N..." He paused, looking like he wanted to say something, but thought better of it. After a moment, he brushed your hair back from your face and sighed. "I have to work today, but how about next week we get out of here. Get off the island for a few days, go somewhere nice, just the two of us?"
Smiling, you nodded, seeing his eyes brighten. Before he could say anything, you started pushing him towards the door. "You're gonna be late. Say hi to the girls for me," you smiled, pushing him towards his bike.
He paused and caught your hand again. "Say hi yourself. Come meet me for lunch. I'm even buying."
You smiled and nodded, blowing him a kiss as he retreated towards his bike.
The girls were your raptors. Ever since you'd fallen into their cage, you had shared an unbreakable bond with them. You regularly spent time in their enclosure, even when Owen wouldn't. For some reason they were less hostile towards you, and were even gentle with you. You'd even accidentally fell asleep in their cage before, and they did nothing. You liked to remind Owen of the Sisters before misters rule, everytime he complained.
***************************
Yeah right, sisters before misters, Owen thought to himself as he stared down the four raptors in the cage, all snarling and snapping at him.
"Hey! I see you back up!" He snapped, feeling the betrayal as the girls moved in on him. "You don't pull this shit for Y/N!"
At the sound of her name, the raptors paused, and Owen took the opportunity to move backwards towards the door. He hadn't thought twice about jumping in the cage when the newbie fell in, but he was starting to wish he had. They had been denied a kill, and now their frustrations were aimed at him. To top it all off, Hoskins was watching so if he made it out in one piece, he'd see it as control, not the pure luck it actually was.
