You were having a nightmare.

Something about an escaped dinosaur, and a crashing helicopter? You couldn't remember precisely as you drifted in and out of consciousness, sweat covering your whole body. The bed was uncomfortable, but you couldn't wake yourself up enough to move. Where was Owen? You tried to reach for him, but your body wouldn't obey you, and you tumbled back into a deep sleep.

The next time you came to, you felt more alert than you had before. You could feel your body this time, and your fingers twitched when you tried to move them. Excellent.

You tried to open your eyes, but the light was too bright around you, and you screwed them shut again, lifting your hand to shield them from the sun.

As soon as you tried to move, pain shot down your shoulder and you cried out. What the hell had happened?

You slowly opened your eyes again, this time prepared for the light. The sight in front of you, however? Not so much.

"What the hell?"

You were laying in some moss, obviously not inside your bungalow. There was water nearby, and some birds chirping behind you. But where the hell were you? You were surrounded by trees, so you couldn't see much of your location. You slowly pushed yourself into a sitting position, trying to ignore the pounding in your head and the pain in your shoulder. You felt like you'd been hit by a bus.

Before you attempted to move to check out where you were, you looked down at yourself, doing a self check to make sure you'd be able to stand. Your legs were bare from the thighs down, covered in blood and muck, right down to your hiking boots that you wore for work. Your t-shirt was torn in places, but your arms seemed okay, except for the pain in your shoulder, but after feeling around with your opposite hand, you were pretty sure it was just bruised up pretty bad, and nothing was out of place or broken. When you reached your head, you realised that you had a helmet on, and that was why your head felt so heavy. You reached for the strap under your chin and pulled it off, looking at it in your hands.

It was a helicopter headpiece. Suddenly you remembered your nightmare. Falling through the air, getting attacked by pterodactyls... You'd hit the dome... And then your memory went fuzzy. You remembered parts of it. Spinning so fast you couldn't even tell which way was down. Another dinosaur colliding with the chopper... You'd fallen. The impact had knocked you from the chopper and into the trees. You'd seen them coming, and then nothing. You must have blacked out.

"Simon!" You cried, remembering that you hadn't been alone in the chopper. Ignoring the pain in your body, you pushed to your feet and stumbled through the trees, heading for the sound of water. You knew where you were now, and it was not good. You kept low and tried to stay as quiet as you could, though your beaten body didn't want to play ball. When you reached the edge of the treeline, you stopped, taking in the sight before you. Your hand covered your mouth to stop a sob from breaking out. The chopper looked like a big metal pretzel.

There was no dinosaurs in sight, so you decided you had to know if Simon had still been inside, and stumbled towards to wreckage, still hot from the flames that had consumed it. You couldn't get close enough to open the door, but you didn't have to. You could see the two bodies in the front seat, both burned beyond recognition.

Your heart shattered as you realised you lost the only father figure you'd ever had in your life. You didn't want to leave him there, but you had no choice. You didn't know where the indominus was, and you were in an enclosure with no weapons. Your radio had been in there too, so you couldn't even call for help. Instead you reached into your pocket for your phone, needing to call Owen and check he was okay. When you pulled it out, you hissed in annoyance. The screen was shattered and completely black, of no use to anyone. You debated throwing it, but shoved it back into your pocket instead. There were countless pictures and videos you wanted to save of your life on the island. A life that was likely over, you realised as you climbed through the huge hole in the aviary wall. There was no way Jurassic World would reopen after this incident. You'd have to find a new job. Probably the least of your worries, you realised as you looked towards the staff entrance to the aviary. There was one jeep left behind, the rest had been totalled by rampaging dinosaurs. Dinosaurs that were still likely rampaging around the island.
