The day before the dance, Lanzis seen inside Beacon's ballroom, sitting at a table and staring at a laptop as he continues his research on the White Fang's current crime activities in Vale and the Church Of Grimm's whereabouts. As he stares at a series of images of the White Fang and the Church Of Grimm,Paige appears behind him as she placed both of her hands on his shoulders and leans forward as she looks at Lanz's laptop screen.
Paige: What'cha doing there Corvine?
Lanz: Still researching about the Church Of Grimm. And researching about the White Fang that could hopefully lead me to Panthra who could hopefully help me learned about the Church's exact location in Mistral.
Paige: Well that's a mouthful. But Dang, Lanz. I thought you would stop by now after you got back to our dorm late from last night.
Lanz: Yeah, sorry. Didn't quite get any good information yesterday. What are you doing in the ballroom anyway?
Yang: Hey! Paige!!
The two turned their heads to the Blonde Boxer who's waving her hands at him.
Yang: Mind grabbing some of the ribbons behind the stage?
Paige: In a minute!
Paige said as Yang gives her a nod before walking away. The Butterfly Knight then turns her head back to Lanz as she says...
Paige: Team RWBY asked me, Angelo, and Azrael to help them with the decorations for the Beacon Dance tomorrow.
Lanz: Wait... tomorrow? The dance is tomorrow?
Paige: Yup.
Lanz: Wow... time move so fast when you're busy.
Paige: Yeah. Also I'm surprised that you're here Lanz. I thought you're here so that you could help us do the decoration. Only to find out you're continuing this research of yours. So why are you here?
Lanz: Well, I just admittingly feel lonely when you guys aren't around to keep me company... that and I just felt guilty for making you guys feel upset with me. So... sorry.
Azrael: Apology accepted!
Azrael, who's preparing the tables, shouted at a distance.
Paige: You heard bat-for-brains.
Lanz: Thanks...
Paige: But don't give us that attitude the next time we're in an argument about something simple.
Lanz: Cross my heart and hope to die.
The Vigilant Crow said as he crosses his chest, mostly the place where his heart is located, while smiling at the Butterfly Knight. Paige then smiles and nods at him in respect.
Paige: Anyways, if you need anything just call any of us out. Alright? Gotta get them ribbons Yang asked me to get
Lanz nods in responds as Paige walks away, leaving Lanz back to his business as he continues to search more of the villains activities online. As he was about to, he notices the Little Rose, sitting on a different table, resting her head on her hand and staring into the distance. Lanz becomes concern for Ruby as he notices how glum she's looking.
And feeling worried something happened to her, he gets up from his chair and grabs his laptop before making his way to Ruby and then sitting down on a chair beside her.
Lanz: Hey, Red.
Ruby: Hey, Lanz...
Lanz: You look down today. What's uhh... what's wrong?
Ruby lets out a sigh before she starts telling the Vigilant Crow everything.
Ruby: Well, yesterday, Blake had this argument with me and the others about the dance.
