Inside the boy's tavern room, Angelo and Azrael are sleeping soundly with the Vigilant Fox sleeping through the night peacefully despite the loud snores coming from the Dark Knight. Meanwhile in the other room beside them, Glynda and Paige are seen, laying on their beds, also sleeping peacefully. Even the Grimm worm "Wormy" is sleeping soundly as well. But there's only one being not able to sleep properly. It's the Vigilant Crow himself, Lanz Corvine.
Lanz kept moving around his bed while grumbling in discomfort. Not because of how uncomfortable his bed was. No. It was because he was having a nightmare. In his dream, he founds himself a dark void, walking through the void of emptiness as he looks around, wondering what kind of dream or nightmare he's having this time.
As he kept walking, he stops as he notices a white figure in front of him, standing at a distance.
Lanz: Uh... hello?
The Vigilant Crow called out to the figure at the distance, waiting for him to respond. But the figure only seem to stand by in silence.
Lanz: Hey, uhm. Hello? I'm talking to you.
Lanz said as he starts walking again and walks up to the white figure before him, still waiting for him to respond back. But yet again, the figure stood in silence. As Lanz gets closer, he starts to realize that the white figure before him resembles like a Knight. The same Knight who was terrorizing the Huntsman in the woods. Though Lanz doesn't seem to recognize the large Knight before him, something is telling the Vigilant Crow that he already met this Knight before.
Lanz: Helloooo. Do you have any ears inside that helmet of yours? I said I was talking to you. L-Look, can you just tell me where we are?
Lanz said as he stops right behind at the Knight before him. But once more, the Knight did not respond nor answer his questions. Getting irritated by the silent treatment, he walks up closer to him and grabs the Knight by the arm.
Lanz: Hey! Answer my questions already!
Lanz exclaimed at the Knight. The Vigilant Crow glares at him for a brief moment as his glare turned to a surprised look when the Knight glances his head towards him. And suddenly, a shockwave knocks Lanz away from the knight, crashing on the ground as he rolls.
He soon recovers as he looks back at the Knight in shock, who finally turns around to face the Vigilant Crow at a distance. As Lanz sat on the ground, still in shock, the Knight takes out what seems to be a great sword from his back before he plunges it into the ground.
As the Knight plunged the tip of his blade into the ground, black flames erupted from both sides of the blade and the fire starts to surround the Vigilant from all sides, making a firewall of black infernos.
The Vigilant Crow stood up, panicked of what is going on. He then hears metal clanking from where the Knight was standing. He turns his head to see the Knight slowly approaching him with his great sword, rested on his shoulder. Lanz was about to defend himself with his weapon, but as he moves his hand to his waist to grab it, he notices he's only touching the air, coming to a realization that he doesn't have his weapon on him.
He looks back at the approaching Knight who then dashes towards Lanz with shocking speed. The Vigilant Crow then gasps as the Knight swings his sword towards his neck, and then... everything turned dark.
???: Lanz....RUN!!!!
A voice of a woman shouted from the darkness, causing the Vigilant Crow to shot up from his bed, panting heavily with sweat, dripping down from his forehead. As he sat on his bed, he turns his head to the two boys beside him, still sleeping soundly.
He looks back ahead and looks down, wondering what kind of nightmare he just had. It wasn't like any nightmare he had back in Beacon. This one was quite new to him. But what concerned him more was the woman's voice that told him to run. It was familiar... he soon realizes that voice was his mother's.
