you move from your home town to los angeles after the death of your father. you try to move on and start a new chapter of your life. as you make new friends you start to develop a special relationship with a boy known for his red mohawk.

It was now sunday morning. You sat on the couch watching tv with your mom. Your phone lights up.
hawk: can you meet me in 10? you: where at? hawk: my house you: okay
"Hey mom. Can i run to a friends house?" you ask "You're always ditching me" she says with a frown that quickly breaks into a smile. "Yes you can go" "Thanks. love you" you say smiling back "Are you not going to change?" she says gesturing at your pj pants "Nah it's just Hawk. No one important" you wink at her and then leave. You walk for about 10 minutes before your gps gives you a notification of your arrival. You stop infront of small house and text Hawk.

The front door opens and he steps onto the porch. His hair is down falling infront of his eyes. "Did you want to come in or are you just going to stand there?" he asks sarcastically You laugh and make your way through the door. You see a woman folding laundry in the living room. She looks up. "Hi there!" she says with a smile "Hi" you say smiling back "I'm y/n" "It's nice to meet you" she says "It's nice to meet you too" you say Hawk interrupts you. "We'll be upstairs if you need us" he says and waves for you to follow him. The two of you walk upstairs and go into his room. He sits on the bed and you follow. You sit in the center of his bed with your legs crossed. "So i talked to Miguel" he says "and i don't think we should tell Tory" "Okay...what did he tell you?" you ask "He said Sam was super drunk and she probably didn't even know what she was doing" he replied "Okay. I won't say anything" you say back "has he heard from her since the party?" "Yeah. she had to leave because of some emergency with her little brother" he replies "Anyway. I have to show you something" he grins at you He leads you into a room with a mat. along the walls are training equipment. "Okay this is kinda cool" you say in an impressed tone "I know" he says grinning back "This room has been empty since we moved in when i was young. So why not turn it into a training room?" "I dare you to do a backflip" you say laughing He smiled at you before stepping on the mat. He positioned his feet and launched his body backward. He flipped and landed right on his feet. "Okay okay. Not bad" you say before following him on the mat. "Teach me" "How to do a backflip?" he said laughing "No how to fly an airplane." you say sarcastically "Obviously how to do a backflip" He laughs and waves you to come closer to him. He shows you how to plant your feet. You go through the motions, his hand on your lower back guiding you. You practice with his help and eventually decide to try by your self. You adjust your stance, throw your body backwards and flip around. You land on one foot and the rest of you body falls to the ground. "You're definitely getting there" he says laughing before stretching out on the mat next to you. Just then a woman's voice called from downstairs. "Eli! Come get your clothes!" she yelled He froze and looked over at you. You gave him a smile of reassurance. He body relaxed a little before he got up opened the door and went downstairs. After a few minutes he returned. "We can go back to my room if you want" he said You get up and follow him to his room. "I have to fold these real quick" he says gesturing to the pile of clothes on his bed. "I'll help" you say while climbing behind the pile He smiles at you. The two of you start grabbing clothes and folding them. He pauses. "I know you want to ask me" he says looking at you "You can ask me" You knew exactly what he meant. "Why do you hate Eli so much" you ask "I mean i know you probably have a good reason...but why?" He puts down the shirt he was folding and looks at you. "When I was Eli..." he started "I was nothing. I mean nobody was nice to me other than Miguel and...Demetri" "Demetri?" you question "He was my bestfriend. He was my only friend before Miguel moved here." a look of hurt flashed through his eyes "Kyler and Brucks used to torture us. They made fun of my lip, threw our things in the garbage cans." "That's why you got into that fight" you say looking at him with empathetic eyes "Yeah. I was drunk. I saw him and something in my head just clicked. It was stupid" he said now looking at you He started to continue but paused. "Hey. You don't have to tell me anything that you're uncomfortable with." you say with a caring smile He looks at you and gives you a smile back before picking up the shirt and folding it. "I know what it feels like to hide" you say He looks at you. "What do you mean?" he asks "Me and my mom moved here to get away from memories of my dad" you begin "He died a year ago" "Shit i'm sorry" he says "It's okay. I don't really like to talk about it which is why i didn't bring it up before" you reply "Are you okay?" he asks "Yeah i'm okay" you reply He sticks out his pinky and you chuckle before locking yours with his. The two of you go back to folding clothes and talking about random stuff. After a while you finished the clothes, he put them away and you chilled in his room. Your phone lights up
mom: coming home for dinner Birdie? you: yeah i'll be back in a bit mom: okay!
"Wanna come to my place for dinner?" you ask Hawk "Ahhh asking me out are you?" he says with a smirk "I'm actually proposing" you say as you jump off the bed and get down on one knee He bursts into laughter "Sure" he says still laughing "So you'll marry me?" you say laughing with him "No stupid. I'll come to dinner" he replies with a grin "That works too I guess" you say poking out your bottom lip He stands up and wraps you into his arms. "Maybe one day" he says looking down at you with a smirk He lets go, grabs his phone, and you head out. He tells his mom he's leaving. You wave goodbye and the two of you walk out the door. When you arrive at the apartment complex you see Miguel standing outside talking to an older man with blonde hair. "Who's that?" you ask hawk. "That's our Sensei. Also known as the man who teaches us karate" he says You walk up the stairs and wave hello to Miguel. "Sensei, this is y/n" Miguel says He says hi before giving Hawk a weird thumbs up and a wink "He's an idiot" Hawk says You laugh and open your apartment door. "Hey! I didn't know you were bringing company" your mom calls from the kitchen. "Yeah sorry. Last minute decision" you say "This is Hawk" "Ah. Where's this mohawk i've been hearing about?" she says smiling "Oh i left it at home" he replied with a laugh "its nice to meet you" Your mom smiles back at him. "Come eat" she says The three of you eat and talk before Hawk gets a message from his mom to come home. You walk him to the door. "I'll see you tomorrow Birdie" he says laughing "Yeah yeah whatever" you say hitting his shoulder He laughs and waved goodbye. "You like him" your mom says from behind you "He's just a friend" you say back rolling your eyes "Maybe so..." she says "But you definitely like him" You roll your eyes again. And smile at her before heading to your room and plopping on the bed. Your phone lights up
