NEVEAH MONROE
WORD COUNT: 1473 WORDS
ENJOY!

My alarm wakes me up. I might've set my classes for the afternoon, but that doesn't mean I like waking up for it; it's class after all. I grab my backpack, quickly opening it to make sure I have everything I need.

Once I do, I grab my water bottle and both my car keys and my dorm key and lock my door. I walk down the hallway, heading outside. I ride the elevator down, walking out the dorm building.

It doesn't take me that long to get to class. Fortunately, I'm not late this time, but instead a couple minutes early. I walk into the classroom. I sit in the back where I sat yesterday. Like how it is usually in high-school, everyone's sitting in the same spot they sat in yesterday.

I take out my ipad, and prepare myself as well as my phone for the lesson. This is a journalism class, so there will probably be a lot of things to go over. Not shortly after that, the professor comes into the room, starting to begin the lecture.

I look at the chair next to me that's empty. Azure isn't here yet. Like she used to be, she's late for class. I shouldn't be worrying about it, but I can't help but wonder why she's late.

We share a bathroom after all. I know she heard the shower water running, or at least the blow dryer or something. I thought she would be up; or even here before me laughing or thinking about how she
one-upped me by being before me.

It didn't matter though. This was college now. She was bound to get into trouble for being late; even if it was by a couple of minutes. The professor could easily make her college graduation hard for her, even though our college graduation wasn't for another two years.

The professor had begun the lesson, immediately starting on the subject. I had grabbed my ipad with my phone, writing and recording at the same time. Ten minutes had passed before the door had been opened.

The class had been quiet, only the professor speaking. When the door opened, the professor gradually lowered his voice, and one by one, heads turned to see who had been at the door.

I did the same, and turned around to see Azure. She had been at least twenty minutes late. Leave it Azure to be late no matter what the situation is.

"Glad you could join us young lady." The professor began. "Next time, you will be deducted points that may jeopardize your grade."

"Yes, sorry sir." Azure says. The professor clearly didn't like her tardiness, and instead continued the lesson.

Azure sat down next to me, and went onto her phone. Granted, it was still the first week; but this wasn't
high-school. She could get in trouble for this if it continues.

It's not like she would though. One thing important that I remembered about Azure was that she was rich. Her parents had owned a fancy company that has continued to be successful.
