This is an old one so pardon the writing style

{Write something that starts with "As the girl ran across the gap between heaven and hell..."}

As the girl ran across the gap between heaven and hell she could hear the beating of thousands of wings behind her. She ran faster, despite knowing it was pointless. They'll catch up to her soon enough and she'll be thrown back in that god-forsaken cage again in the City-Above-The-Clouds. Despite all that, the only thing she could think of was how mad her boss will be with her.

'Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck, FUCK! I am so dead! Double dead! Post-afterlife here I come! Boss'll definitely tear me in half for causing the angels to swarm!' As she crossed the halfway point between the two territories, she caught sight of the canyon The-Land-Below was built in. She nearly collapsed in relief when she saw a dark mass of demons rise from the crack in the earth and move to intercept the angels.

The two masses met with a large clash and fighting ensued. The girl kept running. Everything she did would be pointless if she were to die now by the fighting above. She skidded to a stop when a rampaging Angel made a dive for her. It only just barely missed her and a demon dove down to slash at it and chase it back into the swarm above. The demon then turned to her with an angry expression and barked out at her:

"Malefic! What in Lord Lucifer's name do you think you're doing!?" She hesitated.

"I, uh," The demon continued, ignoring her.

"Get your ass back home! Boss'll have your head if you're any later!" The girl beamed up at her friend as they mischievously smirked down at her.

"Im going!" She turned around to call back to her friend as she ran.

"Make sure to cut some wings for me, Balt!" They laugh.

"Now  you're talking!" They flew back up into the mass of demons as they slowly herded the angels back towards thier clouds. She continued running, smile slowly fading.

'Fuck. Lucifer is going to be so mad I showed the Angels how to leave heaven. I'll be on earth-guarding duty for eons!'
