Summary: Young Aizawa finds a young and hurt Dabi, and helps him out.
AU: Normal
Notes: Dabi is 17 and Aizawa and Yamada are 24 in this. This is 7 years before the current arc. Also do note that this is not a romantic ship of any kind. Just a simple platonic interaction.

(Not my manga coloring or anything. This is by @KUSONOKITARD. Wonderful coloring!)

Ok maybe that was too much to handle, and now, he couldn't move. He was already in so much pain from his healing of the burns, which covered most of his body. Bleeding with an inch knife inside your shoulder can't help it get any better.

Tears sprung in Dabi's eyes- or in this case, blood. It seeped through his burnt skin. He could no longer cry.. his tear ducts were shriveled up, so burnt to the point he cannot cry, only resulting in blood. It was so painful, yet he knew it'd take time to get used to. He was only 17. He had just escaped... them.. who restored him.. who took care of him when he was in a coma for three years.

It all changed when Shoto was born...

It all flipped when Shoto got a quirk...

It all went downhill when Shoto was replaced by him.

...it's all Shoto's fault...

...if he hasn't been born, he would've become his father's pride, he would've become the top hero

...it was his..own fault too. If his skin wasn't so sensitive, he would've been oh so powerful... yet he didn't know this part.

He hung his head down low and silently cried. Rain poured down on him like bricks, yet all he could do was sit there. His clothes clung to him and he shivered from the cold.

Dabi had no idea how long he stayed there, but footsteps filled his ears. Immediately he tensed and his breath hitched as he cowered. A shadow towered above him, and the figure holding an umbrella was flat in front of him.

"Hello? Is everything ok?" the mysterious voice- no- man asked. Dabi peeked from his arms and looked at him. The man's eyes lowered at the sight of blood on his face and the sincere amount of burns on his body.

"Let me help you, god you look terrible. Someone like you shouldn't be out here in the streets, rather than in a hospital," The mysterious man reached out his hand and Dabi flinched harshly, whimpering. he's such a crybaby.

The man's eyes softened as he saw the fear in the boy's eyes.

"I'm not going to hurt you, never, it's all ok, I want to help you. you look like you're in pure agony," he reassured. Taking a set on the ground in front of the boy, he looked at him once more, warmth dripped from his face, his eyes soft, the one of kindness - genuine.

Dabi saw a light of trust in the man, yet his brain wouldn't accept it. He slowly uncurled himself and looked at the man before jumping onto him and hugging him. The man caught him with ease and held him in his embrace, trying to be as gentle as possible. Dabi moved closer to the man. The man pets his hair, gently reassuring him. Dabi didn't know what was going on, but black clouded his vision. the last thing he remembers was being picked up.

Thunder crackled in the background.

s...rious...urns... ...ke...p... um... po...r...di...tion... ..sk...ny...no... forma...ion... on... *sigh* ...b...iet!... 'll...wake... up...

Dabi groaned. Voices and loud voices flooded his sensitive body. He curled up on himself. He layed on sometihing soft. Warmth encased him. His eyes fluttered open slowly ad a dimly lit living room was met by his vision. His burn no longer ached, and for the first time after ages, he felt well-rested. He slowly sat up and looked at his arms. The blanket that was displaying the warmth fell off his arms and onto his lap.

They were thinly wrapped with bandages. He looked around and saw the man talking with someone in what seemed to be the kitchen. Some blonde fashionista. The man paused and his onyx eyes met him. Dabi simply stared back, and the man walked over to him. He sat next to Dabi on the couch.

"How are you feeling?" He asked. Dabi still stared at him before his gaze dropped to his lap, finding his hands very interesting suddenly.

"...Good," He simply responded.

"Do your burns hurt? They look serious. I put some cream on and had a hero, Recovery Girl come in and help with that. You were asleep for quite a while." Aizawa said. Dabi was in utter shock by his kind gesture. No one had ever done something like this to him.

"Recovery girl?" He questioned. Aizawa nodded.

"I'm pro hero Eraserhead. Recovery girl is a rescue hero," He explained. Dabi's eyes widened. Hero's. Hero's that didn't just care for fame like his dad, hero's who actually wanted to help.

Blood ran down his cheeks, meaning the boy was crying. Dabi desperately tried to wipe his eyes aggressively but Aizawa placed a hand on his arms to stop him. Dabi just stared at him.

"Why did you help me, I'm just a burnt failure. I was one step away from death. Why... Why Mister, why?" His voice trembled. Aizawa just stared at him, unfazed but shocked as well. What happened to this boy?

Aizawa took a deep breath and looked at the boy, "Listen, first off, you're not a failure. You're human as well. Everyone deserves help and equal treatment. You look like you've been through so much and I'm sorry that happened kid but everyone deserves a chance. You, me, everyone. I get you. My life when I was your age, which I'm guessing you're around sixteen, or seventeen, wasn't the best either. But I pushed through. Everyone deserves a chance and no one should go through hell. And call me Aizawa."

Dabi, for the second time, jumped onto the man- Aizawa, not caring about the pain he felt in his body, and hugged him. Blood gushed down his face as his tear ducts screamed in pain. Aizawa hugged him back and patted his back, not exactly knowing how to comfort him.

He held the boy till he needed to be held till soft snores were heard. Aizawa looked at him and wiped the blood off his face that wasn't dried.

Aizawa gently pried Dabi off himself and placed him on the couch, placing a soft blanket on himself. He got up, staring at the boy one last time before getting up and leaving to talk to the man in the kitchen, the blonde fashionista. It was Hizashi Yamada, better known by his hero name, Present Mic. Aizawa didn't have a proper home so he stayed with Yamada at the moment.

"Everything ok, Aizawa?" Yamada asked. Aizawa just nodded and sat down. Yamada passed him a coffee, Aizawa muttering a small thanks in return.

"Listen, you need to tell me what happened. Who is that boy. What in the world happened to him?" Yamada pried. He sat next to Aizawa and looked at him with concern. Aizawa started back, and sighed, sipping his coffee before starting the explanation.

Consciousness tugged at the tip of his head. Dabi groaned and slowly fluttered his eyes open. Everything was dark, but he could see the sun peeking out from behind the closed curtains.

He slowly sat up and looked around, spotting a clock telling him it was around two in the afternoon. Where was he-

Oh. Right. Memories from last night flashed through his eyes and he tensed up. Where was that nice man, what was his name, Aitara? Aizawa? Pretty sure it was Aizawa. And that blonde fashionista? Where was he?

Dabi slowly got up and stretched. His limbs ached but his burns felt so much better. Better than they'd ever felt.

Dabi padded over to the kitchen, spotting a note on the table counter. Hesitantly, he walked towards it and picked it up.

---

"Dear...boy,

I hope you're feeling better now. Present Mic, the man you might have seen in the kitchen when you woke up, & I went to work. There's food in the fridge you can eat. I hope you aren't allergic to anything, it's just simple sushi from last night. Feel free to stay if you wish. I also left some burn cream and gauze for your would. Mic & I will be home around 7 pm-ish.

Take care. Here's my phone number & email if you need anything

Dabi put the note down shakily and went to the fridge. Some good food, a proper meal sounded so good right now. Thankfully he wasn't allergic to anything.

He took out the sushi that was in a small pack and sat at the counter. He quickly opened it and grabbed the chopsticks that came with it and ate. His stomach growled. This was so good. He ate greedily, devouring the food like it was his life.

He finished eating in a matter of minutes and rubbed his stomach. He was full. This was delicious. He hopped down from the counter and grabbed a glass and filled it with water from the tap.

Dabi stuck around for another two hours before deciding he was going to leave. He found his bag that was by the couch and decided to pack his stuff. The burn cream that Aizawa and the blonde fashionista, what was his name again? Whatever, gave, and everything necessary. Hopefully, they won't mind if he took a few things here and there.

Finally, after being done with that, he grabbed the paper that had the note written by the two adults and dug around for a pencil in his bag before writing his note.

---

"Hey Present Mic and Aizawa, thanks for caring for me. You just saved my life there and I can't thank you enough. I hope to see you in the future if we ever meet again. Unfortunately, I don't have a number, but maybe in the future, I can message you.

And by the way, it's Touya."

---

Dabi slung his backpack over his back. He looked around one more time to see if things were all ok, organized, and not messy after his stay. After he was satisfied, he pulled his hood, which was now dry, over his head, zipped it up, and jumped out the window.

Maybe he will meet them in the future, who knows? Who knows that in seven years he'll encounter them again? But for now, he was ok, he was healing, and he was going to get revenge.
