There was silence.

Everyone was trying to process what Penn- Peter had said. The group didn't yet know what to say or do; they haven't dealt with something like this before.

The silence was unbearable for Peter as he fiddles with his hands. His palms were sweaty, his heart beating its way out of his ribcage, thoughts frantic in his mind.

"That's great Peter! You should of told us sooner, we'd always accept you. Your part of the family." Bucky spoke up. Everyone was relieved that the uncomfortable moment of silence had ended.

After that was said, Peter saw Mr Stark rushing towards him. His expression unreadable, which made the boy freeze with nerves. The worry quickly drained as he was pulled into bone crushing hug. "I'm proud of you Pete".

Everyone had voiced how proud they were of Peter and that they'd love him no matter what. He got a few hugs, which made him feel warm inside. The kid was filled with happiness and relief...until he noticed that Steve hadn't said anything or moved since the announcement.

As Peter looked over to Steve, the rest of the group caught on. They all turned to the man expectedly, waiting for him to say something. The super soldier glared back at them in return, causing chills to trickle down Peter's spine.

"Steve?" Bucky again being the one to break the silence. "I don't see why this is something to celebrate," Steve voices, hardening his glare at Peter, "Penny obviously needs help. I mean, she is sick in the head!"

Peter freezes in place as tears roll down his cheeks. ' nonononono, NO! This can't be happening! Why, why?!' The boys breathing becomes heavy as he starts to hyperventilate. Wanda is first to notice as the others are in shock of Steve's statement. "Peter, you're OK, you're OK. Breathe, in and out. Come on let's go to your room." Wanda tries calming Peter down as they head of out of the living room.

"What the fuck Rogers!" Tony exclaims. "Sick in the head? Do you know how much courage it takes to come out to people and the struggles he's gonna have to face! Peter doesn't need you to make it worse!" Tony is outraged and is  barely keeping it together. Cap scoffs, "Of course she's struggling! She has something mentally wrong! This isn't natural and shouldn't be happening!"

Nat only sees red as she lunges towards the dumbass. "I warned that if you reacted badly I'd kill you!" Before she can reach him Clint catches her and keeps the raged woman back.

Steve can't handle what he claims as 'bullshit' and heads off to his room; anger graffitied all over his face.

"I'll go talk to him in a minute." Bucky temporarily closes the case.

Wanda and Peter had sat in his room talking, until Wanda decided it was a good idea to give the boy some space. Peter was grateful for that as he didn't really know what to do and was still trying to process everything.

There was a knock at the door. "Hey Pete, can I come in?" Tony asked. "Yeah, sure" the man entered the room after receiving permission, and sat on the bed next to Peter. "I just wanted to come talk to you, if thats OK, if you still need some space then we can talk later. It's up to you." "No, it's fine, we can talk now." Tony smiled at the teenager. "First off, I just wanna tell you how proud I am of you. Cause I know it takes guts." Peter looked up at Tony with happiness and shock; 'He's proud of me?' This was last thing he expected. The boy just wanted to envelope the man in a bone crushing hug.

"Also, I'm a bit offended that I wasn't told first or even just sooner, what's up with that? Huh?" Tony smiled and earned a laugh from Peter. "Well, I guess I was just, scared," he replied hesitantly "also I didn't really tell anyone, they just kinda...found out" Tony laughed at that. "You're a bad secret teller and yet my genius still didn't figure it out." They both shared another laugh, and Peter was happy about Tony lightening the mood. "Anyway, I want you to know that, no matter what, I'll always accept you, OK Petey." The boy nodded and muttered, "thanks Mr Stark."

They duo carrier on talking and joking for a while. And at the end, Peter managed to give Tony a bone crushing hug - literally. ("Pete, let go, you're killing me!").

"Ima go talk to Steve." Bucky announced as he left the living room full of Avengers on their phones.

Bucky reached Steve's door, and knocked. "Hey, can I come in?" After a quick reply from Steve, Bucky entered the room and sat on the end of the bed. "So, uh, we need to talk. About Peter" Steve rolled his eyes "I know that it might be hard to understand the situation or view it as OK, but you're gonna have to learn to accept it." There was a moment of silence, then Steve spoke up. "I want to but, I just want to protect the kid. I'm just scared for 'em because, well, do you remember Colin? Ya know that guy who said that they were a woman. I just don't want what happened to Colin to happen to the kid."
Bucky took a moment as he processed what Steve had said. He knew he would have to change the blonde man's mind, but he did understand his concern. "I get it, but things are different know. And Peter has all of us to protect him. The only person hurting him right now, is you." "But-" Bucky cut him off, "let me ask you a question. How would you feel if you were Steve but in a woman's body; viewed as a woman; had the same boundaries in work that a woman had; told during the war that no matter what, you couldn't help in it. how would you feel?" Steve stayed silent. He thought about it and came to the conclusion that he'd probably hate it. "I understand. I wouldn't like it. I'm going to do some research on it because I still fully don't know what being transgender is so...thanks Buck, for helping me understand it." The men smiled at each other. "You should probably go talk to Peter. He was a but upset and panicky over the whole thing so-".

Tony had just left Peter's room and the boy felt a bit happier. But it didn't take long for the unbearable thoughts to start creeping up on him again.

Peter's heart pounded, his breathes deepening as tears welled in his eyes. 'Steve hates me' 'why aren't I normal' 'everyone's is going to hate me' 'I hate myself' 'just why!' Negativity took a hold of his mind. Drowning the boy in floods of thoughts. Hate. Anger. Sadness. Desperation.

Peter dug his nails into his arm to calm himself. He wanted to scream, and shout, and let it all out. Peter looked down at the small indents he'd made on his arm, as he questioned everything. He didn't know what to do, he ju- Knock! Knock!
