"Avi! Uth! Ma'am aarahi hai!"
"Avi yaar!"
Avyanna groaned loudly and opened her eyes. Her hair was matted to the side and the corner of her lips had a bit of drool. She looked up at her group of friends, squinting her eyes with annoyance at them.
"You want to get into trouble or what?" Sahil asked, pulling her up to sit upright just as the professor walked into the classroom.
"Avi! Look alive!" Ayushi whispered, shaking her up as Sahil brushed her hair neatly into place with his fingers. It was rather hilarious to her, how much her friends worried about her.
Avyanna was who one would consider the light of their lives, the life of the party, the soul of the friend group, and the most ardent annoyance to all of her professors. Avi had a few too many red marks in her records - suspension, tardiness, talkative, unorganised, breaking rules, damage to institute property - and so much more. She was one of a kind, for sure.
"Good morning Ma'am!" The students sang loudly, more for jest than to wish.
"Ugh. Sit down. Place the first chapter of your dissertations on my table. Ridhi make note of everyone who don't submit by the end of this hour." The professor said.
Avi looked around. She sat right in the middle in that huge row of chairs, University classrooms were quite different from those in schools and colleges. Everyone around her pulled out their folders. She groaned again, but mischief glint in her eyes.
"What's wrong Avyanna? What's the excuse this time?" She heard the professor's voice.
"Not an excuse ma'am! Fact only! I forgot the folder at home and came!" She said, smiling nervously at her.
"I'll forget to give you marks also then." The professor scoffed.
"Ma'am don't worry! I'll keep reminding you!" Avi grinned. Sahil groaned, holding his head in his hand.
"Get up! Get up this instant and get out of the class!" She hissed at her, glaring intensely.
"You can't keep your mouth shut, can you?" Sahil sighed, slapping his palm to his forehead.
"Just kidding ma'am! I have my project." Avi giggled, pulling out a bright pink folder - very different from the others' sober ones. The professor's eyes widened and her face morphed into such an annoyance.
"Aviiiii!" Ayushi whined. They were so done with Avyanna. She was a force to reckon with. She grinned, grabbing all the folders from her gang around her and rushed off to the front, going down the steps.
"It's a part of my research paper, no ma'am? Showing customers a bunch of negatives in the name of problems and delaying gratification so that when they get a positive action, it also heightens the level of gratification." Avi explained, placing the folders on the table. An uproar of laughter was heard from behind. The class clown, she was also an insanely smart clown. She heard a few whistles and a few claps.
"Go sit down, Avyanna." The professor sighed.
"I need to get a Raise for teaching this class." She muttered under her breath as Avi walked away.
Avyanna Krupa Rajah was a 23 year old Maharashtrian Tamilian who lived her entire life in Goa and was now studying Masters in Advertising and Marketing at a university in Bangalore. It was a rather mix, her life. Her father was a Tamilian, her mother was a Maharashtrian. Her father had passed away in an accident when she was young, and her mother owned a café in Goa near a beach, and she was a product of their absolute and wild love. Hence, her personality.
"Amma!" Avi yelled into the phone as soon as she answered.
"Aviiii! Chilaana nahi!" Her mother yelled back.
