Kaitlyn has been slacking on a lot of things lately, especially her work in the cafe. After what Spellbinder had done to her just a few days ago, she wouldn't allow herself to be near her friends again. Too afraid to face them.
The one person she really couldn't face was Chase. She always doubted the strength behind her hits, but after seeing through her own eyes how Chase groaned in pain whenever one of her hits would land on him. She just couldn't do it. Even though Kaitlyn has been ignoring him and the rest of the rangers, she did apologize to him and the team once they had gotten back from the battle.
After that, she had only spoken to her sister, and sometimes occasionally Keeper. The times that she had spoken to her alien friend, he would reassure her that none of this was her fault and that her friends have already forgiven her.
Kaitlyn was lost in thought as she stepped into the base, only to find Chase and Riley arguing. Her eyes widened and she quickly turned to leave but heard the voice that she didn't want to hear, at least for a little while longer.
"Katie," Chase called out, "You've been ignoring me." The boy reached out for his energem as he stepped beside her.
"Wouldn't be the first time I've ignored you," she informed as they both stepped into the elevator, trying to keep her emotions at bay.
"Yeah, well you have also ignored the rest of our friends."
"I haven't had the need to talk to any of you guys."
"Are you sure? Because even if you don't have something to say, you at least acknowledge us."
"I just needed some time to myself, is that alright?" Kaitlyn was getting irritated with every passing second, she was with him. The elevator finally reached the top, allowing the girl to quickly leave before Chase could ask any further questions.
Kaitlyn knew that the rest of her friends would be meeting at the café, as they're going to search for the golden energem. So instead of going there, she rode her bike to a nearby park.
Time flew by quickly while Kaitlyn was doing tricks at the park, but she stopped as soon as she saw Chase skate past. He looked like he was in search of something, so Kaitlyn decided to discreetly to follow the boy.
He suddenly stopped to look around, but then screams were heard. Kaitlyn used the dino comm that Kendall had given her to alert the others.
"Hello, anyone there? Chase found a monster and he's destroying a whole bunch of buildings," Kaitlyn informed giving the others his location. The girl didn't know for sure if anyone had heard her, but she had faith in her friends that they would make it in time.
She pedaled as fast as she could, trying to make it back to the base to check out what was happening and if her friends were okay. She may not have been speaking to any of them, but that didn't mean she would sit and watch as her friends got hurt. Kaitlyn slid down the T-rex head and into the base to be met by her sister.
"Why didn't you tell me that there was another monster?" Kaitlyn questioned quickly taking an earpiece.
"Because-" Kendall stopped for a brief second, trying to figure out what to say, "Because you needed time to yourself, everyone could see that, so that's what we did. We didn't want you to worry too much," Kendall explained looking back from the holographic screen and to her little sister.
