Torma..

I looked at Levi, he looked serious but I couldn't help but laugh.

'Of course Goré is alive..' I rolled my eyes. 'Just like all trees!'
My laughter didn't die until Levi stopped the car.

'You find that funny? Of course all trees are alive! And we can't cut all that exist, right?' Levi looked at me straight in the eyes. 'With that Goré can transfer it's spiritual core to another tree where it can continue to reside..but now that you are here.. Goré wants humanity, Goré wants you to house it's spiritual core so you can be it's human body!'

I paused taking that in.

'Still find it funny?' Levi resumed the drive. I leaned back in the seat and looked back at the sky.
It was getting covered up by dark clouds, I sat up in shock.
I looked at Levi, he didn't seem to care to see. I guessed it was normal then.

The journey back home got more boring with the raining that fell, I fell asleep.
Immediately I closed my eyes, I saw a girl my age staring directly at me in the dark. How I saw her? I don't know.

She was gorgeous. Her green eyes glistened at me, her pert nose scrunched up due to her wide pearl white smile contrasting with her thin pink lips.

She held out her folded hand and I looked at it. She opened her hand and I saw pieces of a dried leaf on it.
I looked back at her and she smiled before blowing them onto my face.

Œtre œ Œtre. She laughed when my eyes closed to prevent the pieces from entering my eyes. When they opened, the girl was no longer before me but that old lady. She had no eyes still but she was greyer and she stinked.

Her cackles scared the shit out of me. I yelled never stopping.

Yelling eventually woke me up, I pulled away from Levi and Danielle. They looked at me worried.
I attempted to get out of the car but I was pulled back by Levi.

I noticed it was another car, it wasn't beaten up like the one we had. It was fancy, looked new but I knew it wasn't.
It was just well cared for. It was Levi's or at least I thought.

'I have put everything you'd need into your bags.' She spoke to me, I looked at her quietly.
'Levi will take good care of you_'

'Isn't that what parents say before they abandon their kids!' I felt a tear roll down my cheek.

She pulled me into a hug.

'Don't say that!' She sniffled on my shoulder. I held her tightly.

'Mom..I am sorry!' I cried even louder. I couldn't let her go without apologizing.

'Hush..' She stroked my head. 'Be good!'
She pulled away forcing a laugh. I couldn't see how red her face was. She didn't want to cry more.

I looked at Levi and he offered me a sad smile.

'We should get going..but after you do!' He spoke to Danielle. Just then I realized that the house was dark and the front door closed. The car was on and warming up.

I looked at her.

'I'll visit!' She kissed my forehead and dashed for the car. She got it and closed the door. I saw her waving at us.

I waved back feeling a wail leave my throat. I couldn't help but cry again.
She pulled out of the compound and drove off. Levi followed from behind and when we got to the tarmac. I saw her turn the other way from us.

I looked back at the car leaving and then at Levi. He was quiet.

'Why don't you take a nap?..the journey is going to be long!' He suggested. I remembered my dream and decided not to.
