It had been a week since their nikaah and nothing much seemed to change in their life.
Haidar never spoke much to her after that day. Only making sure no one made a comment regarding her beeta hua kal.
Whilst Izzah seemed to get more comfortable in his room and his khamoshi. She would get up everyday and have her breakfast in the room itself and he would leave her to college and pick her up afterwards. She would then spend her whole day in the place she felt mehfooz making almost none contact with her own khaandaan as she used to avoid having dinner with them too.
🥀
It was just an another day when they were going for college in his car.
"Khuda Hafiz," Izzah murmured softly after adjusting her dupatta and ready to move out of the car when his rough voice made her halt,
"Ruko ek minute,"
"Jee?" She questioned turning back gazing right into his grey eyes which as always were blank.
"Yeh kuch paisey rakh lou." He told taking out some sum of money from his jeans pocket making her frown,
"Mujhey zarurat nahi hai. Aap vapas rakh lein."
"Khuda ke liye kabhi toh meri baat ek baar main maan jaya karo ladki. Zarurat nahi hai magar pad sakti hai aur vaise bhi tum lunch canteen main kar rahi hou toh paisey zyada bache nahi honge." With this he forcefully handed her the money and sat inside his car, ready to leave.
Izzah sighed not wanting to argue with him and be a victim of his gussail rawaiya.
She knew he was fikramand for her but never showed it.
She gulped down the guilt which she had been feeling since last few days.
Her ammi was right.
She had no right to destroy his zindagi if she didn't want to marry him.
She should've straightaway denied for their nikaah but shouldn't have made a mazaaq of his jazbaat and intezaar.
He was waiting since two years just so that she could complete her education and could stand on her own legs before the nikaah.
But all his efforts went in vain due to her one galat faisla.
Not to say even after all this he took no qadam towards her in a wrong way instead he was the one always doing her hifazat from even her own khaandaan.
Izzah closed her eyes in distress as her train of khayal went in this direction.
She could feel the eyes of people on her as she made sure her dupatta stayed on her head without falling.
Her shouhar wasn't here to protect her and she had to do it herself which she had been terribly failing in leaving just an option for her that was to hide from these gazes under her dupatta.
"Oh ho dekho toh zara kaun aa raha hai. Izzah, Sahil ki ex-girlfriend jisse Sahil ne manbharne ke baad chodh diya." One of the girl murmured making Izzah clutch her bag tightly in her hands as her pace fastened.
