It's been what sky people call a month and two weeks.I still give Miles extra lessons,sometimes,after the last one he started to came less,he's always attentive during our lessons and cold the other time.
I spend more time with Spider,I'm happy that we can count on each other during all of this,he can live without his masks and he look a bit better.
Today,I decided that it was time for them to get an Ikran.
We were running in the forest to the Hallelujah mountains,where the nest of Ikran was.
We stopped at the bottom and I looked at them.
«We'll climb to the top,it's where the ikran nest is.»
They all sighed looking to the top of the mountains,even Miles who was a good climber.
We then went to the top,I was in the lead,of course,closely followed by Spider,as I helped him, and Miles.
Once we were there I looked to all the beautiful Ikran,even if their screams could irritate the others,I missed this view and I missed my Ikran.
I heard a tranquilizer gun being reloaded,the one with the scar I gave him giving it to Miles.
Spider laughed «Na'vi younger than me do it with their bare hands»
I chuckled a bit too then he looked at me.
«Did Jake did it ? »
I hummed in a positive response and he put the gun on ground.
He walked to the Ikran then one jumped in front of him.
«Let's dance Cupcake»
The banshee hissed at him and he happily hissed back,I was a bit surprised to see his hiss to be honest.
His little ears would bend down too,it was kinda funny.
Woah-he punched it,and tried to jump on it,the Ikran struggling and making fall to the ground.
«I forgot but you're supposed to tie his mouth-»
I said as the Ikran almost bit him.
«No really ?»
He said immobilizing him to ground.
«Now bond with it ! Use your queue and do the Tsaheylu ! »
He looked at me then bonded with the Ikran but a the same time,the Ikran flew off the cliff.
We all looked down,waiting for him to come back,and after a while,he didn't.
«Well let's go.»
One of them said already turning back.
«So whose turn is it ? »
I looked back and saw him on his Ikran,I slightly smiled seeing how proud of himself he was.
Then they all passed the test and got their Ikran.
I started to feel a bit sad,I which I could fly on my Ikran too,in a hope of him coming I called him.
One,two times,waiting for an answer but nothing,I was about to go on Miles Ikran with Spider when I heard his screams and I looked at the cliff.
«Txep ! »
I waited for him to land and quickly bonded with him,not waiting a second to get on top of him,petting his head and flying.
MILES QUARITCH
I watched her from my own banshee,she looked so happy,she mentioned her Ikran once.
A long time ago,since I tried to distance myself but seeing her flying freely like now,I just felt kinda of glad.
I felt an eye on me and looked at Spider,sitting in front of me.
«I hope you're not planning anything weird.»
I frowned and decided to fly a bit,slightly petting my Ikran's head,I named her Cupcake.
She was flying so freely,not trying to escape or anything,just flying next to us,enjoying this feeling she missed.
I looked away,knowing Spider was weirdly staring at me,that kid was being protective about her,they often call each other in Na'vi,I don't know what they say but I'm pretty sure they have a pretty good relationship.
We went back to the base,It was already night time and everyone went to their room,I brought Tevahine to her room,closing the door.
«I remembered something you said earlier,what is Tsa-»
«Tsaheylu, the bond,It's very important,you do Tsaheylu with your Ikran,with a pa'li,and mostly with your mate.»
«Your mate . . . ? »
«Do you want to go outside ? We could go on a walk»
I nodded as we went outside,it's been a while since we last done it.
TEVAHINE
We walked in the forest,enjoying the night and the moon's light.
«So,what's a mate ?»
«A mate is someone you bond with for the rest of your life,you then share all your memories with them,joy or sorrow,you need to see your mate.»
He nodded,his tail swinging low and slow.
«Do you have a mate ?»
He was dying to ask me that,I could tell.
«No I'm unmated,Eywa hasn't put someone for me in my path for now.»
I started walking to a place with fluorescent flying creatures.
He followed me and touched one,smiling with his teeth.
I looked at him and almost smiled too,the way he looked innocent at that moment,almost making me ignore all the blood he had on his hands.
He chuckled while playing with them,I smiled and did the same.
We played with them,laughing and spinning around.
We exchanged a look,like for a split second,everything was okay,we forgot about the past,about what's coming next,it was just us,in the present time.
