"I want you to have everything in your life; and if that means starting over with someone else then fine."...said Perry
"What the heck happened to Perry? What, because you mourn some kind of sadness, it doesn't mean that I am going to give you another chance. Look I was moved by your reasoning and for a second there I thought about giving you...your second, third, or even fourth chance. But I can't get over the fact that you would do this to me."...said Jane
"What about Weiss, or Connor? Are you going to give them second, third, or even fourth chances?"...asked Perry
"Would you be friends with someone who slept with your mother and then slept with your best friend? And Connor, he didn't even tell me his feelings about me in high school, he just slept with me hoping I wouldn't know it was him. Look I got, to be honest, the idea of giving chances to people who want them is limited. But I will think about it and it's probably not going to be yes."...said Jane
"Then we can take small steps to reach for the goal."...said Perry
"If you're going to ask to come to therapy, then fine you can go without me. And this is not soccer, so stop speaking their language. Look, I like that you can dream and fantasize about being with me. But I can't dream or fantasize about being with you. Perry, you're a great guy who would make a woman fall in love with you so proud. But to find that love you have to learn to take rejection because rejection is not one of your strong suits. I don't want to get into a relationship with you and constantly fight you and tell you no to things that are not right. And besides what you did cause a lot of stirring in the pot. There is so much drama, that is being left unresolved. I have to go bye Perry."...said Jane
"Then if you won't stay for me then at least write me, texts are okay but I like handwritten letters. It sort of leaves your scent behind, not in a creepy way."...said Perry
"Fine."
"Jane it's good to see you. It's been so long since you've been in my office."...said the Doctor
"Couple of months go by and suddenly its years."...said Jane
"What, do you want to talk about?"...asked the Doctor
"Well before I left I talked to Perry, I mean it wasn't horrible nor was it great. But I felt like we got a lot of clarity out of it. We both spoke our minds about things."...said Jane
"Did he ask you if he wanted to be in his son's life?"...asked the Doctor
"Yes, he did I granted him that. But before we departed he asked me to write him handwritten letters. I never really felt comfortable talking to him in general. Initially, I am not a big fan of handwritten letters."...said Jane
"Then why don't you take the risk and try it out? I don't know if you might like it. Look taking a risks are hard, you just got to know in your heart if that is the risk you are willing to take. Jane, it is up to you if you want to write Perry notes."...said the Doctor
"Dear Perry
I am writing you this letter at the risk of you thinking it's something. Don't think too much into it. You once asked me if you could, have a second third, or a fourth chance. Now that chances don't really come to me that much or often. In my head I dont think you deserve another chance, I dont think you should be around other women in general, but I know that my heart wants to give you another chance.
My therapist once said...'Look taking risks are hard, you just got to know in your heart if that is the risk you are willing take.' Her advice meant a great ordeal that I decided to take her up on it.
He's your son, and I am willing to let you be in his life...and mine. But I want you to know that if you try that again what you did, that will be the last time you see your son.
I want you to know that I thought it over, and I am going to give you the second chance. But you are going to have to work for it.
Jenna."
