"Hyun-ah..."
"'Hyun'? Sungjin hyung?"
Sungjin gasped softly and a tear slipped from one of his eyes. He turned away from everyone and retreated into the kitchen, putting his hand on the table to lean as more of his tears fell.
The kids frowned as Dowoon approached them to put back the treasure box under the cabinet.
"Did we do something?" Hyunjin frowned up at him.
Dowoon smiled, "Yeah."
Hyunjin pouted, tears springing up to his eyes.
Dowoon quickly added, "But it's great! You helped him find his love."
"Love?" Beomgyu's brows furrowed, confused. "Uncle loves the guy in those pictures?"
"...Yeah. Why?" Dowoon paused.
"I didn't know Uncle Sungjin could love. He looks like he hates emotions," said Beomgyu, and Dowoon giggled, ruffling the boy's hair.
"He's just not that used to showing emotions, but he knows how to love, Gyu-yah."
"He seemed so infatuated with him," Taehyun pointed at the box.
"Infatuated? Where did you learn that word?" Dowoon chuckled.
Taehyun tilted his head.
"Probably from Namjoon," said Hoseok.
Sungjin gulped heavily in the kitchen, struggling to breathe.
"Hello? Is this you, Sungjin hyung?" Younghyun asked.
Sungjin licked his lips.
"You know, I have work to do," Younghyun reminded. "I can get back to you later if you'd like —"
"Yah," breathed Sungjin. "You're a bastard."
"Oh? Hey, Sungjin hyung~!" Younghyun beamed, laughing nervously.
Sungjin sniffed, "You're a fucking bastard."
"I know, I know. I understand why you're mad. Are you crying? You sound like you're crying," Sungjin could hear the frown in his voice.
"I hate you," whispered Sungjin, gritting through his teeth. "I fucking hate you."
"Been so long, right? 7 years. You still sound so beautiful."
Sungjin sat on the chair and sobbed softly against his phone, unknowingly making Younghyun's heart ache.
"I thought I'd never hear from you again," Sungjin whispered shakily. "I miss you but I fucking hate you, Hyun-ah."
"Um, one month. A month from now, I'll make it up to you, okay? I'll keep in touch this time, I promise," Younghyun said.
"If you fucking leave me again, I will ask Yeonnae to bring me to his dad's company so I can beat you up. I'm not kidding," Sungjin warned.
