HAEIN
On Monday, I had dropped Haeji off at school. Jisoo went to a meeting with YG about her next project — which would take the whole morning — so I stayed at the apartment.
My schedule was free, and I was bored at home, the morning seemed to pass by slowly. I was in Hae-ji's room, organizing the washed clothes in her closet, her room was perfectly tidy — she was organized like me.
The doorbell rang, making me frown. I walked towards the door trying to guess who could be there that day, after all, we weren't expecting any visitors.
"Jennie?" I said, surprised. I cleared my throat — her presence made me a little uncomfortable. "Jisoo's not here." I said right away, before she could even say anything else.
"I noticed. You're wearing clothes." I could hear the irony in her voice as she looked me up and down, as if she was judging me. "But I didn't come to talk to her. Can I come in?" I frowned. She asked if she could come in, but without waiting for an answer, she practically pushed me inside. I closed the door and turned to her, who put her hand on her belly, grimacing.
"Are you okay?" She nodded and composed herself. She went back to maintaining her threatening posture.
"What do you want?" I didn't understand the question, and she realized. "With Jisoo. What do you want with her?"
"Why are you asking me this? Did she ask you to do it?" She denied it. It wasn't Jisoo's style to ask others to ask about her, but it was strange for Jennie to be there with this doubt.
"No." She took a deep breath, as if thinking of the right words. "She still loves you, Jung Hae-in. She never stopped loving you and was broken when you left." Her voice broke. "It was painful to see her completely broke, but pretending to be okay." I denied it.
"She wasn't pretending." A wrinkle formed on her forehead, as if she was irritated by my disagreement. "I watched the videos, practically all of them, BlackPink House, the documentary... She was genuinely happy to be with you guys." I sighed. "Which leaded me to think that maybe my leaving was good for her, she was happy." She denied, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath.
"It didn't. She was crying." Her voice broke again, as if she was going to cry or as if saying those words hurt. "She wondered why you left, why you didn't insist on staying."
"She asked me to leave. I thought I would remind her of something painful." I swallowed hard, I wanted to cry. "If she hadn't asked me, I would love to be around to see all her achievements."
"Don't do that again, Hae-in. She's insecure, afraid of you leaving, you still haven't had a clear conversation about what you really have. Please, don't leave again," I denied.
"I won't leave her." I assured her. "I would never leave again and like I told her; that's not a lie to me, Jennie." Her face changed and she grimaced again. "It's a second chance to live what was stolen from us." Her grimace worsened, she seemed to be in pain.
"Take me to the hospital!" She begged, only then did I notice her hands on her belly. "Hae-in, take me to the hospital, now!" I felt my pockets and looked around, looking for my keys. I found them hanging on the hook and hurried to the room, grabbing my cell phone.
"Let's go..." I said, not knowing whether I should help her walk or not. She willingly held my arm as she walked, she didn't seem to be in as much pain anymore, but she still walked slowly. "Are you ok?" She nodded.
"But the contractions are more frequent, we need to go." I nodded.
Jennie gave me the address and on the way to the hospital, irritated and between moans of pain, she called her husband.
