Daniella groggily awakens to the insistent ringing of her phone, her mind still clouded with sleep.
"Yes?" she answers, her voice heavy with fatigue.
"Hey, Daniella," Morgan's voice crackles through the phone.
"Hey, Morgan, what's up?" Daniella replies, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
"Clearly not you," he quips before getting down to business. "Listen, babygirl, we have a case. I'll be at your place in 5. You better be ready."
With a resigned sigh, Daniella rolls out of bed and begins to prepare herself for the day ahead.
As she descends the stairs, Daniella spots Rosemarie, who eyes her curiously.
"Take a picture, it'll last longer," Daniella teases, meeting Rosemarie's gaze with a smirk. "Where are you going dressed like that?" Rosemarie inquires.
"I work for the FBI. I have a case," Daniella explains matter-of-factly, relishing the shock on Rosemarie's face.
She grabs her coat just as she hears the sound of Morgan's car pulling up outside. "If Stefan asks, tell him I'm out on a case," Daniella instructs before heading out the door.
"What's the case, Morgan?" Daniella asks once she's settled in the car.
"A family consisting of two parents and their son break into a home, kill the parents, and kidnap their daughter," Morgan explains as they make their way to the jet, falling into a comfortable silence.
"So, how's your case going?" Morgan inquires later, breaking the quiet.
"Hotch told you?" Daniella asks, surprised.
"He told all of us. We wanna help," Morgan replies earnestly.
"I haven't checked," Daniella admits, her mind still preoccupied with their own investigation.
"Why not?" Morgan questions.
"A watched pot never boils, Derek," Daniella replies with a smirk. "Ain't that the truth."
After the case concludes, Derek drives Daniella home, who drifts off to sleep during the journey. Gently, he rouses her upon arrival.
"Hey, Daniella, we're here," Derek informs her, helping her out of the car.
Daniella yawns and stretches, realizing belatedly that she's still wearing her seatbelt. "Oof, babygirl, you are tired. Here, let me carry you in," Derek offers, scooping her up effortlessly.
He knocks on the door, and Stefan greets them, concern evident in his expression. "She is exhausted," Derek explains as he carries Daniella inside and settles her on the couch.
"Sorry, man," Derek apologizes before departing. "That's fine. Thanks for making sure she's okay," Stefan replies, closing the door behind him.
"She gets tired?" Rosemarie asks Stefan, her curiosity piqued.
"Yes, ever since she was turned into Daniella," Stefan reveals, taking Daniella to her bedroom and tucking her in before leaving her to rest.
