I Know You're The Killer

Chapter Six : Murder Mystery

Kate is a little frighten about the call and in this moment she doesn’t really know what to do. (Kate) “Look I think you might have the wrong number goodbye”. Kate hangs up the call but the phone begins to ring again. Kate ignores it and goes into the bathroom. She turns on the shower and leaves it running for a minute. The unknown caller begins to call again. He sends a text message and it reads *hurry up I’m outside your front door. Kate starts to become worried and quickly runs out the bathroom into the kitchen. She grabs a large kitchen knife from inside the drawer and slowly walks towards the front door. She turns the knob to make sure that the door is locked. It was. Her cellphone begins to ring, again. Kate answers it “I don’t know who you are but I already called the cops and they’re on their way so you better stop calling”. (The caller) “Are you sure about that? Because you’ll be dead by the time they arrive”. Kate is terrified. (Kate) “Who are you? And what do you want?”. (The caller) “I wanna know where Carissa is”. (Kate) “You have the wrong number now please leave me alone”. (The caller) “I’m afraid I can’t do that. You see, I know you’re making that movie and I want my share on the fun”. (Kate) “What are you talking about just please leave me alone I don’t know who you are”. (The caller) “Fine suit yourself. You’re the opening act and I’m the final cut”. The phone call ends and a loud glass shatter sound distracts Kate. Kate slowly walks to the living room and notices a bunch of glass on the floor. She walks on closer to the broken window. The killer appears and Kate begins to run. With just little time, Kate gets captured by the kitchen counter and is thrown around the floor. The assailant attacks Kate with a screwdriver and smashes her skull in. A helpless Kate is beaten to death. The unknown assailant picks Kate up from the floor and carries her into the bathroom. He throws her into the hot shower and begins to clog the toilet. The unknown assailant calls 911 from Kate’s phone and declares the incident as a suicide. After the phone call the assailant drops Kate’s phone on the floor and walks out. 20 minutes later, paramedics and police arrive at Kate’s house. The front door was left wide open with a suicide note on the ground. The police and the paramedics rush inside the home. Kate’s bathroom is flooded and steamy from the water running. The next day Kate is now a story on the morning news. Her family demands justice immediately and wants the person responsible to be imprisoned. In 24 hours after the incident detectives show up at the home of the actor who is playing Brian. They might suspect he could’ve had something to do with the crime. Brian’s actor whose name is actually Harry cooperates with the police and detective that he is not responsible. (Harry) “Look you got it all wrong here I am not responsible for this”. (Detective) “Do you know anyone else who might’ve been close to the victim?”. (Harry) “No I don’t”. (Detective) “What about any family or friends?”. (Harry) “I don’t know much about her we were just working on a movie”. (Detective) “Are you aware of Jamie Hughes ?”. (Harry) “Yeah, I mean I know we’re doing a movie about her but I don’t have any connections to her”. (Detective) “I didn’t ask that I was asking if you were aware”. (Harry) “I don’t know her like that. Why does it matter?”. (Detective) “Well we can’t really get in contact with her so”. (Harry) “So you assume I’m gonna know where she is. Look, I’m just as pissed as you guys are about this but I don’t know anything about this murder”. (Detective) “It was a suicide. Well we’re still investigating”. (Harry) “Okay I don’t wanna answer any more questions alright. I said my part I don’t know anything about no one I was just told what to do on set, I grab my paycheck and that’s it”. (Detective) “Where were you the night of the incident?”. (Harry) “I told you I was at a convention”. (Detective) “So you don’t know nothing about this”. (Harry) “I want my lawyer now, let him answer all the questions”. (Detective) “No further questions. Um we’ll keep in touch”. Later that week things just get more and more weird. For instance after Kate’s death another murder took place just down the block from her home 2 days later. Then a double murder happened inside a local market. With Kate and Harry out the picture all that’s left is Carissa?. Carissa is expected to do more promo right before the movie releases. The countdown begins. It’s 3 weeks before release day and Carissa is at a press conference for the upcoming film. A lot of questions are being asked about the recent crimes more than the actual movie itself. When Carissa notices that, she tries to exclude herself out of the question. Carissa witnesses a man in the crowd covered in full black clothing. He stands there camouflaged within the crowd. At first Carissa suspects that she might just be hallucinating. But this is no hallucination. The image Carissa sees is bound to be visible right in front of her. The unknown (killer) is wearing Harry’s costume from the movie but he has his face covered with a gas mask. Carissa just doesn’t believe this is happening. After the last question being asked Carissa excuses herself out. Her personal assistant asks Carissa what happened? She further explains that she seen a man in the crowd staring at her during the conference. Her assistant suggests that she shouldn’t pay any mind to it. Maybe it was an obsessed fan. Carissa brush passes this matter and just wants to move on forward. Carissa arrives back home and receives a text message from Xax (Junior’s actor). He states about an incident that happened during her press conference. Someone was stuck by a motorcycle in a suburban neighborhood. Xax explained how he witnessed it right in front of him. He rushed into his home to call the police. When the police arrived the body was missing. After Xax’s dispute with the police he ran to the local police station to file a report. With no evidence or any reason to believe such a tragedy, Xax was then escorted back home without further assistance. Carissa advised that Xax should just keep quiet in the time being until they can meet up privately. After a long day of self care Carissa finally meets up with Xax at her house. She tells security she’ll be safe and to just take a break for a moment. The conversation starts (Xax) “I don’t know what else to do all of this is just insane”. (Carissa) “Oh yeah? Try asking for help then getting turned down all because it’s just business”. (Xax) “Okay I’m sorry about before I really am but this is a serious situation going on here”. (Carissa) “And what about when I needed help? Now I gotta feel sorry for someone that doesn’t even take someone’s pain seriously? Get over yourself. (Xax) “Listen to me” Xax grabs Carissa by her shoulders and looks her in the eye. “I am sorry about what happened alright! Nobody seems to believe what I saw was true”. (Carissa) “Now you know how I feel”. (Xax) “Please just listen!” Face builds with frustration*. “I was at the gym and I was alone with just a few other guys. They had finished up early but I stayed a little while longer. Nobody seemed like they wanted to walk back in there. Then this one guy came in and he went on the treadmill. I had to use the bathroom so I did. One of the mirrors inside the bathroom had a strange message. It said I know what you did. I was just confused like who would write that in a gym’s bathroom? When I came back out, the guy was missing and there, there was, blood. All over the floor. Then the lights turned out and this strange man came out of nowhere and started chasing me all around the gym. I got lucky by escaping. The door was locked so I had to break the glass window down. I ran for my life. I tried calling several people and I wasn’t getting an answer. Then like a whole hour later that’s when I seen the motorcycle incident. It, it just doesn’t make any sense how could this person be doing all of these things. (Carissa) “Wait what time did that happen? When you were chased in the gym”. (Xax) “It was 11 o clock why?”. (Carissa) “Wait, then you said an hour later you seen someone get hit by a motorcycle”. (Xax) “That’s right”. (Carissa) “What did this guy look like?”. (Xax) “He was tall, he had a mask and was covered in all black”. (Carissa) “What kind of mask?”. (Xax) “I don’t know it was like a gas mask or something”. (Carissa) “I think I saw him at my press conference”. (Xax) “What?”. (Carissa) “I think I saw him at the press conference. I I I was there sitting down and this one moment I looked at the crowd and see this guy just, standing there staring at me. I panicked a little so I just stopped the event early”. Carissa clears her throat. “I have to promote this film in L.A before release day. If anything happens before that time I think I’m gonna be either dead or in court”. (Xax) “What does that even mean Carissa”. (Carissa) “This Jamie girl I know she’s behind all of this and there’s only one way to find out. I’m pretty sure she’s expected to be there also. But I don’t know if she accepted the invitation”. (Xax) “That girl we’re doing the movie based off? But how?”. (Carissa) “She just gave me a weird vibe when we met. She has to be doing all of this just to get revenge for making her life a story”. (Xax) “This doesn’t make any sense there’s a guy that’s been terrorizing us”. (Carissa) “Or maybe it’s her. You can’t assume it’s just some guy. She’s literally tall herself. Did she fall down and took a while to get back up?”. (Xax) “Yeah I tried fighting back. I almost got stabbed with a screwdriver”. (Carissa) “Its her. No man is gonna let his victims get away that easy. The women are weak”. (Xax) “Okay since you think it’s her why are the cops not involved?”. (Carissa) “They can’t track her down. We might have to stop her by ourselves”. (Xax) “How are we gonna do that?”. (Carissa) “First we wait”.
