"I like you Y/N" Luke said, obviously nervous. They had been best friends for the longest time, and he wasn't so sure if she felt the same way.

"Luke... I don't... I don't know..." Y/N said dumbfounded. She had never thought about being anything more than best friends with Luke. He was a brother she could confide in and she wasn't ready to lose that.

"You don't have to say anything yet. I know this is so sudden. It's just I have liked you for so long and I don't think I hide it anymore. I'll give you time. Don't worry about this. Nothing will change for now okay?" Luke reassured Y/N as he noticed her shoulders shaking a bit, what she usually did when she was nervous or scared.

--------

" I don't know what to do... He's your best friend and my best friend. It feels so wrong..." Y/N said softly to the tall boy who wrapped his arm around her securely.

"WE are wrong or his feelings are wrong?" Calum asked worriedly, anxious to what was going on inside the gorgeous girl in front of him's mind. Scared to what would happen to them.

"I don't know... We aren't anything. This meant nothing. I do not like Luke. Nothing is going to happen." Y/N said sternly after a few minutes of ponder. She stood up.

"Nothing will change Calum." Y/N gave him a light squeeze before walking out.

--------

"Hello?"

"Luke, are you alright? You didn't reply to my message. Which I guess is either you are sick as a kitten or you broke it?" Y/N said through the phone.

"Sick." Luke said, trying to hold back his coughing.

"Knew it. Alright I'll be there in 20. Don't you dare move a muscles until I get there."

It had been more than a month since Luke had confessed to Y/N. It was heavy on the both of them, but they both knew their friendship was more valuable so they pushed their feelings aside and return to each other's embrace before they could think it through.

"Alright you butt. I have tylenol and cough syrup and homemade soup." Y/N said as she approached the sick boy on his bed.

"I hate your soup." Luke said trying to stay awake.

"Excuse you. My soup is delicious. Ashton loves it."

"Because he's a sucker. And why are you arguing with me? I'm sick here." Luke sniffled.

"Butt. Open up." Y/N sighed.

"I don't want it. I want ice-cream."

"No, you're not having ice cream for dinner just because you're sick."

"But my throat hurts."

"No..."

"I HATE YOU!"

"Don't leave me." Luke pulled Y/N back before she could stand up and leave. She sighed.

"I'm reciting How I met your mother for you only because you're sick. No more."

"Hehe. Thank you" Luke said contently. "I just need cuddles right now." Luke pouted.

"Fine, move your butt."

Y/N climbed in to bed with Luke as he slowly drifted off to sleep. She smiled as she saw the poor boy was sound a sleep, until she remembered what happened the other night.

--------

Y/N thought that was best for the three of them. To prevent that nothing had ever happened. Luke had never confessed to her. There was nothing between Calum and her. She thought all was right, never bother to console the dark-haired boy.

"Y/N... What we had...It meant nothing?" Calum asked, his expression obscure.

"Yeah like you said. It was nothing but a fling. You have set the record straight Calum. There is no more to discuss." Y/N said bluntly; it seemed like she was confronting Calum, and herself. "Everything is going to be alright now, isn't it?" She said, trying to push back the lump in her throat. She kept lying to herself and to Calum. After Calum told her their relationship was a summer fling, it broke the both of them. Y/N was despondent for weeks but she pushed herself back up like what she always did when she felt weak. Calum, being the non-expressive boy as he was, seemed as good as we had always been. But little did Y/N knew, Calum was not doing any better than her. The memory of their relationship haunted him day and night. He missed their secret lunch date; he missed their petty fight about tennis, he missed the way her body squirmed when he touched her tickle spots, he missed the way his body reacted when she traced figures down his back. He showed her magic and she led him to euphoria. The day he decided to ask her to be his again, she told him they meant nothing. They shattered like crystals.
