Y/N returned to her apartment. Everything seemed so strange and disorder even her favourite blanket, or the old vinyl player she loved so much seemed eerie. She was overwhelmed with sorrow and she needed a break from it all. Could she just pack her bag and leave? Where would she go? Would she just run away from it all like how she always had? Her world spinning around her chaotically as she tumbled forward and crashed down on the rough floor.

Y/N woke up with a stabbing headache, like someone had hammered her head to the wall. She recalled what had happened the night before: Calum fucked her up, her own house freaked her out then she passed out on the ground. She startled when she found herself lying on her bed in her room. Suddenly, there was a breaking noise in her kitchen that fully woke her up from her nightmare.

"Shit!" Y/N heard a low pitch grumble.

"Hey Lucas" She yawned, wincing from the pain in her head.

"Hey babe, I was so worried when I found you passed out." Luke said giving her a light hug, his body was still burning from his fever.

"I'm sorry I left when you were so sick. Something came up..." She mumbled looking at the ground, trying hard not to recall the dismal event.

Luke pulled her in closer then picked her up and put her down gently on the couch. He tugged a blanket securely around her before looking straight into her Y/N's eyes.

"Calum told me already..."

Y/N's jaw dropped, she was not if she had heard him correctly. Did he say Calum had told him everything? About their affair which was burning with not only ardent but despondent flames? About their talk, their desperate kiss, their fuming confrontation, and Calum not running after her or caring enough to ask if she was safe? Her mind was burning with rage when Luke continued.

"I feel so bad for disrupting you guys. It's all my fault. Be with him, Y/N. I promise I'll be fine." He said gently stroking her bony cheeks.

"No Luke. It is not your fault at all. We had absolutely nothing when you told me you like me. Calum had ended it before there was anything between us." Y/N said sternly, her wrath driving her every move.

"But you came back for him... You still want him right?"

"Wanted. He still couldn't make up his mind, so I did it for him. I saved him the trouble." Fury was ablaze in her eyes, preventing the tears she had held back since last night from rolling down her face.

"Y/N he is miserable right now. He knocked on my door frantically at 4 this morning begging me to let he see you but you weren't there. He was so worried that he asked me to come here and check up on you."

"Then why isn't he here doing it himself? "She said, her anger apparent.

"He knows you would hate him if you saw him so he didn't dare to come. But he is scared Y/N. I have never seen him like this my whole life. He isn't one who would show his weakness but he is so vulnerable right now he could break any minute without knowing if you're okay. I know he fucked up but give him a chance to explain. You don't have to forgive him but hear him out?"

Y/N's frustration had alleviated but was immediately replaced by despair. She broke down violently onto Luke's broad shoulder, soaking his favourite flannel as he gently rub her side and letting her have a much needed cry. After what seemed like hours, she calmed down a bit before finally speaking up

"Go home. Take care of Calum. Tell him I'm fine and I'll talk to him when I'm ready. I'll take a nice bath so you don't have to worry about me." Y/N pushed herself off the couch and gave Luke a light peck on the cheeks before disappearing behind the bathroom door.

Two weeks after the incident, still no call from Y/N, Calum was getting more distressed and kept him from hurting himself through packs of cigarettes and bottles of Smirnoff.

"Okay you have got to stop! This is so fucking unhealthy Calum. If you want her so bad then stop fucking yourself up and go talk to her!" Luke shouted at the morose boy, trying to yank the bottle from his hand.

"Leave me the fuck alone. She doesn't want me. I don't fucking need her. I am done. Done with all these bullshit relationship. Better off with hook ups and groupies."Calum slurred, taking another gulp, his throat burning from the strong alcohol.

"You bastard! Get yourself together and go find her! She is just as miserable as you are. I cannot live with the both of you like this." Luke slapped the bottle out of Calum's hand, shattering it to pieces, the liquid splashing everywhere. That's when Calum's dyke bursted.

"Get the fuck out of my house and be with her. I cannot give another shit about either of you. Go make her happy! Make her forget about me! I'm sure the both of you will be thrilled to be with each other and toss me out like fucking trash."

"How many times do I have to tell you? She is never going to be with me. Ever! Now take a hard look at yourself, Hood. You are the reason why you are so miserable. You put yourself in the corner, no one else did. You didn't give a single fuck to keep her around Calum. You are the reason why she is so miserable."

Calum couldn't contain his outrage anymore as he grabbed the nearest plate and aimed for the wall behind the blonde boy.

"GET. THE. FUCK. OUT!"

Calum screamed as he threw every thing he could have his hands on, a plate, a spoon, a wine glass, a key. He kept screaming and destroying his kitchen like that was the only thing he could do. The alcohol and cigarette smoke had kept him numb for the last week but now as his best friend's word hit him with reality, he could feel the pain rushing through his vein, deteriorating his every organ, slowly and sharply devouring him. It drove him to insanity that he tried to hurt his best friend. The only thought he had as he painfully succumbed to the wrath was the sound of her giggle when he picked her up and flung their bodies into the ocean.

<flashback>

"Put me down Hood!"

Y/N giggled, feeling her side burning everywhere he touched her.

"Never! I will never put you down! Ever!"

Calum shouted as he carried Y/N and ran into the water in the middle of the night. The cold water hit their body but it was nothing compared to the heat radiating from them being with each other. That's what so powerful about Calum and Y/N. When they were alone, they were aimless vagabonds, hopelessly searching for a handle to hold themselves onto in this madly ever-changing world. But when they were with each other, they were fire storms: wiping out everything as they neglected the world and focused on each other. They wrapped each other in a tight embrace as the moonlight illuminated their naked body. That's when Calum realised how addicted he was to her touch. He craved her touch even when she had wrapped her body around his. He felt his lung bursting when she traced his tattoos. His thoughts ran wild as she gently placed a kiss on his plump lips when he was sleeping. It was so toxic that he felt like suffocating without it, it was also a placebo that cured all his wound. Why did he think he could escape from something that powerful?
