(Lance)
I woke up to Keith's head on my chest, one arm wrapped over my belly, and the other above my head, slowly working it's way under. I lifted my head, and allowed his hand to slide under. Keith immediately lifted his head and faced me with tired smile."Sorry" he said shyly "I was trying not to wake you."
I smiled back, and wrapped my right arm over his back. "It's fine, I'll go back to sleep, and we'll stay like this a little while longer.
He smiled, and that's when I noticed a small puddle of drool that had formed on my chest as he slept. Keith followed my gaze, and immediately his brow went up, as he wiped my chest dry with the blanket.
"Oh, sorry sorry."I couldn't help but smile wider. "Wow, I knew you liked me but, I didn't know you were drooling over me."
Keith's head turned and offered me a playful smile with cherry colored cheeks. 'Such cute cheeks' I thought.
Keith crawled up to me, and planted a peck on my lips. He fell onto his side, his left arm still pinned by my head, his right arm sliding away, leaving a cold streak where it once was. The blanket was only covering our torso's, and my eyes were stuck on his chest, before he lowered his chin, and caught my eyes with his gaze.I raised my eyebrows questioningly.
"What?" He asked through a thing smile.
"You aren't going to asked?" I asked.
"Ask what?" "Ask if I see something I like."
Keith let out a chuckle. "So you can repeat the same line?"
I took in a breath, and slapped his shoulder playfully. "I'll have you know, it is a good line!"
Keith's rolled his eyes, and fell onto his back. I felt the area where his hand had slid from now growing colder in the absence of his heat. And a smile grew across my lips.
I rolled onto my side, facing Keith, and made pouty lips. Keith looked at me after a moment, and raised one eyebrow.
"I'm cold." I said in a high pitch.Keith's cheeks turned red, and he rolled over on his side away from me, pulling his left arm from under my head. I was about to protest before he began to slide himself back towards me, until my arm was wrapped over his chest, and I was pressed against his back. I pushed my face into the back of his head, and he pulled the blanket up over us. "When do you think they'll be here?" Keith asked.
"Too soon." I responded into the crook of his neck. "I thought you said it was lonely?" Keith asked with a hint of playfulness, and a hint of sadness that melted Lance.
I held Keith tighter, and moved my right arm under Keith's head.
"Do I seem lonely to you?" I asked.
Keith responded by intertwining our fingers over his chest. Within a few minutes, Keith's breathing returned to the quiet rhythm of sleep, and Lance wanted nothing more than for that moment to last forever.
His favorite moment. When I next woke up, it was to the rumbling of the castle, as the lions returned. I felt a shiver of disappointment and excitement run up my back. Disappoinment that we wouldn't be alone, and excitement that I might be able to convince Hunk to make proper pancakes. Then Keith rolled over, and looked at me with a sad smile, and my love of pancakes was washed away.
"Maybe it'll be a short mission?" I said, trying to comfort Keith."It's not just that." He said. "What else is it?" I asked, raising my eyebrows. He dug his head under my chin, and spoke into my neck, the warmth of his breath sending another kind of shiver through me.
"Ask me again later." He said.
I leaned back a little, revealing his face, he had the expression of a grumpy chipmunk that had been pulled from a deep slumber in a warm den, I giggled at the comparison.
"What?" He said with a small grin.
"Nothing. Ask me again later." Keith rolled his eyes, and dug his head back in.
"Chipmunk." I said quietly, over his head. His head quickly popped back out. "What did you call me?"
I smiled and shrugged. "You said yes to pet names. Unless you'd prefer sugar plum hone-" Keith held up a finger to my lips."Fine, chipmunk is okay too." Keith said. And his cheeks got red as he said it. I crossed my eyes to look down at his finger.
He giggled, pulled it back, and wrapped an arm over my side to warm my back. He then dug his head into my neck, and mumbled something I couldn't hear.
I could feel his smile, and couldn't help but feel I was being left out of a joke at my expense. I pulled back again. "What did you say?" I asked.
