As the dust settled over New York City, the Avengers were left to tend to their wounds. The battle against the Chitauri had been intense, and the team were exhausted. But even in the aftermath of their hard-fought victory, there was still an ample amount of work to be done.

Dr. Y/n L/n, a highly-skilled and talent medic with S.H.I.E.L.D., was on the front lines, helping to patch up the heroes as they came in through her door. As she worked, she couldn't help but notice one particular patient that stood out from the rest.

Loki, the Asgardian prince and the man responsible for unleashing the Chitauri and their destruction on Earth, was lying on a gurney, unconscious and covered in a multitude of injuries. Despite everything he had done, Y/n couldn't help but feel a twinge of pity for the lost prince.

She approached Loki, aiming to take a closer look at his injuries. They were quite severe, but none life-threatening--well, none for an Asgardian. As he lay there unconscious, she began to clean and dress his wounds, trying to ignore the feeling of guilt that welled up inside her every time he unknowingly flinched at the pain.

As she worked, Y/n couldn't help but think about the complexity of the situation she was in. Loki had caused so much destruction in such a short amount of time, and yet, here she was, helping him tend to his injuries.

She huffed in resignation and tried to push those thoughts out of her mind. She was a doctor, and she swore an oath to help those in need, regardless of who they were or what they had done. So she continued on.

As she finished bandaging Loki's injuries, she couldn't help but wonder what would happen to him. Would he be punished for his actions on Earth or on Asgard? Or would he be shown mercy? She didn't know any of the answers, but she knew that, as a doctor, her duty was to help him heal.

As Y/n stepped back, she saw Loki's eyes begin to flutter open. He looked around, confused and disoriented, before his gaze settled on her.

"Where am I?" he asked, his voice weak and raspy.

"You're in a S.H.I.E.L.D. medical facility," Y/n replied, trying to keep her voice neutral. "You were injured during the battle. I've cleaned and bandaged all of the superficial wounds; so they shouldn't cause you any problems besides minor discomfort."

Loki's expression softened as he let out a soft sigh. "I see," he said. "Thank you... for helping me, healer."

Y/n nodded, unsure of what to say to the alien prince. She watched as Loki closed his eyes again, and slowly began drifting off into the land of unconsciousness once again.

As she walked away, Y/n couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness. Despite everything, she couldn't help but feel a connection to the Asgardian prince. She knew that, no matter what, she would always be there to help him heal.

And maybe, just maybe (if the universe allowed it), she would help him heal in more ways than one.
