Nick
"We're all set to go!" Julie grins at me as she raises her eyeborws up and down, handful of paperbag.
Because of the recent accident I had,Dad had the chance to come see me and recalled that he still had my debit card since I was grounded for beating an innocent guy,as what he said. But he was totally not innocent. He was evil. Pure evil. Jackson Carter.
So now Julie and I are buying new clothes for me again, the changed wardrobe for my assumed identity. To begin with,Jackson's my brother. Half brother to be precise. Then, adding up to the complication,he's Caitlin's ex-boyfriend. This is indeed,a small world.
Yes,the woman had to send him to the school where I was studying so that we could spend time and know eachother, which ofcourse, didn't happen atleast for once. Which also, would never happen. Not a chance. Not after everything he said and did to me.Flashback
The gang and I were in our usual hang out spot, the rooftop. But when we talk about our favorite hang out spot outside the campus,it's the racetracks. Just sayin'. Chase and Toffer were jamming with the guitar while I paired with my earphones, the only relaxation I have. If Todd was here, he would probably burying himself on his sketch book again. But he had to runaway with my girlfriend.
We were'nt the type of guys who loved to talk and babble about our lives and statuses after classes. Pairing up with our own thing is enough, and then just get wasted. That's us.
We were already absorbing up the relaxation when we heard the rooftop door flung open in a loud bang. Pulling off my earphones, the guys and I turn around and see Jackson's group. There was also three of them and if only Todd was here, just by the number of men,we would already beat them.
"Sup bro!" Jackson greets me in a suave way. But let me tell him to stop acting like that because he hasn't got me yet. "You didn't tell me about your little hideout! I'm impressed!" He turns his head around in every corner of the room and snickers.
I just looked at him growing sulky and furious. "What do you want?"
Jack snickers. "Oh,come on,big bro! Don't you wanna hang out with your little bro?"
"He doesn't have a little bro!" Chase yells trying to be a supportive friend.
"Atleast not you." Toffer adds up and teasingly chuckles with Chase.
Presently,Jackson turned her grin into a furious glare. He gets pissed off so easily, doesn't he? How weak. Just like his mother.
"Actually," He says, calming his self down. "I was gonna tell you I had a great time with your girlfriend. Her body was a wonderland."
"You shouldn't have said that." I say, growing violent. I could feel I was turning red and ready to pop.
"Why?" He asks arrogantly. "It's true."
I was about to strike out a punch but the boys stopped me and tried to calm me down. They said it wasn't worth it anyway, but I really wanted to hit him already.
"Well, she's not my girlfriend anymore. I don't need to here your past." I say without taking off my gaze at him.
Jackson snickers. "Ofcourse!" He says. "They always leave you, don't they?" Then he strikes out a smirk. A devious one.
"Nick, don't." The guys knew I was about to hit him already and grew worried. And unfortunately,I did.
No,wait. Fortunately,I did.
Next thing we knew,Jackson's and my gang satrted bashing eachother while me and Jackson were the furious and fierce ones in fighting eachother. I have him a chance when he took out Caitlin as the topic, but I think he didn't recieve the message so I had no choice but to smack him already.
When I knocked him on the floor,I darkly glared at him. "You have no right to invade my life." I drew near him and smacked him again.
After he hit me back,he got up and steadied himself and smirked. "Just accept it that she will never love you. She will never come back for you because she already has me and Jackie."
I hit him with his remark. "I don't give a damn of what she has! And I don't give a damn if she doesn't love me or ever will!" I end my commentary with another abrupt hit on the nose.
Jackson glares at me growing upset. "Deny all you want, but we both know what you really feel." He says. "That you've been yearning for a mother's love but you will never have it nor experience it."
I was about to give him another smack when someone suddenly yelled.
"Carter! McEntire! My office, now!" Mr. principal cuts the scene and commands us to follow him.
Holding his bruise,Jackson gets up and smirks at me.
Why did I have to have a brother like this if my mother had to bear one? Why did I have to have a brother? He shouldn't have underestimated me. He shouldn't have said those things. I was suppose to be the big brother, but I guess his mother hadn't taught him the word 'respect',just like what she did to me.
End of flashback
"Nick?" I hear a voice as it shook me. "Nick. Nick." The voice keeps going on. "Nick, what's up with the floor? Do you see something?" The tone turns into a frightened one. "Huh?"
It wasn't so soon that I found myself again and glanced at Julie, who was with a crooked face,a bit frightened, believing I was already seeing something on the floor.
"Tell me! What did you see?!" She pleaded and shook me again. "Don't tell me you have a third eye?!"
I look at her irritably. "Let go." Julie turns to her hand on my arm.
"Oh,sorry." She says. "But did you really see something?"
Walking away sternly, she follows me. "Don't be such a scaredy cat. I was just.." I paused and tried to look for the right words to describe it.
"Dreamy?" Julie grins.
"No." I hastily reply. "I was gonna say overthinking things."
"That's still being dreamy." She says, nodding her head as she turns away.
I look at her surly. "That's for girls."
Julie chuckles in amusement. "You really do have a sense of humor."
Doesn't she know she has one too? A larger amount of it.
JULIE
I wonder what he was thinking about earlier. The thought came back to my mind again. I just got curious about it,about him. He was so deep earlier, and it felt like he was about to shed tears. A tear,to be precise. I turn to him and tried to search for a clue in his feelings, but ofocurse, didn't find anything. How would I when this guy was so hard to read. So enigmatic,in short.
Turning away,I breathe in disappointment. I feel like I wanna help him on whatever baggage he's carrying, but I can't. As I turn back to focusing on looking for a cab when I notice a familiar figure hopping out of the car, which is parked meters away from us.
Presently,I got a closer look and tried to remember whoever she was. The woman had a long golden hair falling straight down to her slim body,
brushing her flawless white skin. Almost likely a barbie doll, with all those qualities. Then a blonde guy, which almost looked like Ken, hands her a pink cluctch bag that perfectly matches her glittering dress. The guy hops out and beams at her.I see them murmur but ofcourse I can't hear them. As I take a closer look,Nick mumbles impatiently as he awaits for a cab. I elbow him for that without giving him a glance and continued to process these two figures. Lastly, two German sheppherds went out of the van as the girl grabbed their chains,
which made me feel a bit anxious. Then finally,it all came to me when the girl turn around and exposed her beautiful white face. She's Ariana! Ariana Colson and her fiance,Patrick Stevenson! Oh gosh! I owe them something! I'm totally dead. Better look for a coffin.
Or better yet, start running and get lost.
