i worked as an elementary school teacher in east liverpool. i absolutely loved my job! the kids were definitely my favorite part of the day. i mean of course they were! i taught a bunch of first graders, the prime time in early school learning.i taught george and olivia harrison's 6 year old son, dhani. now, you weren't supposed to have favorites but dhani definitely was. tonight was set to be his parent teacher conference, and both george & olivia were going to be there.
the time was 6pm and the couple was due here in any minute. i straightened up my classroom a bit before adjusting my beige blazer and matching khakis before the couple reached my doorway, "hello, ms. gardner."
"oh hello! welcome!" i gleamed, clapping.
the couple walked in as i took my seat, watching them take theirs. i searched george up and down for a brief moment before glancing over at olivia.
"how's he doing in school?" olivia asked, folding her hands in front of her.
"just fine." i nodded, feeling george's eyes burn right through me.
i quickly gazed in his direction, to see his eyes were glued on me. he didn't speak, he didn't have to. our brief eye contact told me everything he wanted, and needed to do to me, and this was the first time we were meeting.
"how's his grades?" olivia smiled, stroking her husband's forearm.
he gently tapped her hand, while i pulled out dhanis files. i cleared my throat before sliding the document in front of them, "he's got a couple C's, but mostly B's." i smiled softly.
"that's alright. math was never a strong suit for us." george joked, winking a bit. i giggled at his humor, reddening a bit.
"other than that dhani is a sweet boy. he is always the first one to help me in the classroom, and his other classmates. he's never rude, always polite." i pridefully stated.
"that's our boy!" george winked.
we all talked for about an hour and a half before their time was up. they each individually thanked me, before heading for the door, when olivia turned around to mention one last thing, "oh! george will be in charge of picking up dhani for the next week. i'm headed to mexico for a family emergency."
"sounds great. i hope all is well in mexico." i smiled. she returned the gesture,
"thank you ms. gardner. enjoy your evening now." olivia waved.
"you too guys." i grinned.
"goodnight ms. gardner." george winked again. i giggled a bit to myself, waving them away.

the next day i stood in class talking about squares and how they were different from rectangles when the bell rang, "ok class! remember there's no homework tonight- other than to..." i trailed off smiling at my class, who in unison replied,"HAVE FUN!"
"that's right!" i giggled as the parents began to show up. george was one of the firsts to show up as he watched me do my job. he smirked a bit to himself while he watched dhani engage with not only me, but his classmates.
i looked up from the front of the classroom noticing george as he slightly waved. i waved a bit back, glancing down at dhani, who was helping his friend roger put away his blocks. where i worked, the parents were allowed to walk in and get their kids as long as i supervised them taking and leaving.
as the kids cleaned up and the parents filed in, george stood by the doorway, his hands in his jean pockets, "you sure do love these kids." he smiled.
"heh, of course i do! they're my world." i glowed. george couldn't help but blush at my innocence.
