An: This is the second chapter uploaded today, please read the previous one if you haven't already.
Xiao didn't know a lot of people. So imagine his surprise when he went to take his notebook out of his bag and a post-it note confession fell out along with it. The lack of a signature made him think it was just a joke someone was playing on him, although he couldn't think of a reason anyone would do that to him. The next explanation he had was that it was simply placed in the wrong bag. That one made little sense though since his bag was always next to him.
The last thing Xiao did was to entertain the thought it could be real, and whoever wrote it actually forgot to sign. That was almost more ridiculous than before answers, who could forget to sign their confession? He studied the note further and ignored the butterflies that hatched in his stomach when he looked at the cat drawing that occupied the bottom of the note.
He thought of everyone he knew, considering the possibilities. The first person who came to mind was (Y/n). He thought of how she often carried a sketchbook with her. She also always used colored pens to take notes. His heart raced at the idea of her, Which is why it definitely isn't here. He was simply seeing connections because he wanted it to be her confession. Yes, that had to be it.
When the (e/c) eyed girl let him borrow one of her many colored pens, he thought nothing of it. Well, not until he left class to meet with Hu Tao, that he realized he forgot to give it back. He noticed the familiar color. The note was still in his bag, and when he took it out to compare the two colors, they were the same. It was just a pen color; it meant nothing. However, the redness that spread across his face would definitely not go unnoticed by Hu Tao.
It didn't go unnoticed.
"Xiao~" Hu Tao came up behind him, making him jump. "What are you blushing at-" She saw the confession note in his hand, but he had put the pen away before she could see.
"Nothing." He put the note away. "Why did you want to meet anyways?"
"Too late I already saw (Y/n)s post it!" She froze as soon as she finished speaking. "Um- I mean uhh- Any ideas of who wrote it?"
Xiao did not respond, actually, he couldn't really do anything, he was too busy having an overload of emotions he'd never thought he would have to deal with. Through his shock, he was able to utter some words quietly. "So she did write it?"
Hu tao somehow managed to hear him."Yea..."
They both then walked together to the cafe. On the way there Xiao wondered how he would act around (Y/n). Should he tell her he knows? What would he do after that though?
Something weird happened to him when leaving the cafe. A girl who was in one of his classes had taken credit for the unsigned confession. Xiao couldn't help but be overly annoyed with the girl, who he swears he's never even seen before. He opted to pretend she didn't exist.
Seeing (Y/n) in class always put him in a better mood, now more than ever because he was now able to see her adorable reactions to his teasing. He got to see her, even more, that day because he went to her apartment to work on their project. There was a moment when he thought she would confess but she didn't.
Xiao didn't find Levana to be relevant, but Hu Tao did. She made it clear to him in front of most of their friends, (Y/n) included. He was mad at Hu Tao but when he got home he thought about (Y/n). Did she think the same as Hu Tao? Xiao put himself in (Y/n)s position. If she had let some guy who likes follow her around, he definitely wouldn't like it. Then add in the fact that she doesn't know her feelings are mutual.
Xiao felt sick now, as his heart clenched in guilt. He did something he thought he'd never do. He called Hu Tao.
Xiao apologized to Hu Tao, well that's all he really said. She did most of the talking. Hu said he needed to make the first move, and she would give him an opportunity to tomorrow at the club fair. Xiao was hesitant but agreed.
Arriving at school late on the morning of the club fair was an experience like no other. Xiao was so anxious, wondering when Hu Tao would give, said opportunity. He had spent most of the night thinking about (Y/n). What should he say to her? Should he kiss her? He wanted to. That thought made him blush, a lot.
He was too busy thinking about (Y/n) and didn't notice Levana walking next to him. When she did finally pull him out of his thoughts, he stopped.
"I guess I didn't make it clear before, but I'm not interested in you." He held a stoic expression.
She didn't falter. "It's ok! If we hang out more you-"
He cut her off, now getting annoyed. "I like someone already." The girl was taken aback but finally left him alone after that. Now he could head to the courtyard, hopefully, Hu Tao wouldn't be too mad at him.
As expected he got scolded by Hu Tao, but she wasn't as mad as he expected. She quickly turned her attention to her bag. And Xiao looked at (Y/n), he was getting more flustered around her.
" Whatever, now that you are both here I need you to sign the info form." She went over to her bag and rummaged through it. "Where... Oh no!" She exclaimed."I left it in the club room." He was getting the feeling she did it on purpose when she told (Y/n) and him to go get it. This was his opportunity. He was very hesitant.
"Let's go (Y/n)." He turned before she could see his blush.
He did wanna kiss her anyways.
