Aira

Aira's mother, Queen Anastasia clapped her hands together, then the music waned and everyone went silent. Everyone in the hall stopped all their conversation and turn their heads to look at the queen on her throne. The silence was deafening, though some people still talked in hushed voices.

The Queen had dark brunette hair tied up in an elegant bun at the back of her head which was dotted with rhinestones and pearls. She had cocoa-coloured eyes with flecks of gold that were similar in colour to Aira's eyes though they were more defined and they looked like they had seen many things. Her large wings were an extremely dark shade of brown, with small white patches at the base of the primaries in her wings. She wore an ash grey gossamer gown that reached the floor and had a silver ribbon lining her waist. Her neck had on a necklace that had a glowy lilac, antique-looking figure of the left wing, a necklace she had never taken off since her coronation a very long time ago.

Aira's mother then glared directly at Aira and raised her eyebrows, slightly tapping the arm of her throne impatiently, as if she was waiting for Aira to walk forward to her so she could start the coronation. Aira nervously looked around her only to see that the crowd that has came was a bigger group than she had expected. When she finally mustered up the courage she needed, then she walked towards the dais where her mother's throne was on.

Once Aira was halfway up there, she panicked for a moment, but she kept walking as Aero and Artic would want her to be brave and go up to the throne for her coronation so she walked towards her mother as if everything was fine and that she wasn't stressing over about everything that could happen as she was walking up to the throne. Aira then stood on the dais right in front of her mother, her mother then nodded and Aira knelt on the dais, her head held low, though not low enough for the tiara to slip off. That would be embarrassing, she told herself, then smiled at the thought of it happening.

The queen stood up and motioned for the servants to bring forward a silver diamond-encrusted feathered crown that was polished and stored ever since her mother's coronation. The crown sat on a quilt and was placed on a stand for the crown as Queen Anastasia made the speech. Queen Anastasia then started to speak,

"It has finally become the day when my daughter will be crowned a crown princess of the Winged Empire and from this day onwards she will be my heir. She has trained hard since young and I hope all of you here will accept her as my heir to the throne."

After the long speech which Aira honestly thought was useless and time-wasting, Queen Anastasia lifted Aira's silver tiara off her head and gave it to the servants to store or throw. She then replaced the tiara with the crown and placed it on Aira's head. Queen Anastasia then sat back down on her throne to watch what her daughter would do next in front of so many royals.

Aira stood up and turned to face the crowd, she froze right there and then wondering what to do next. And then suddenly all her thoughts were becoming a huge mess.

Aira looked around the room frantically and her eyes found Artic's, she gave Artic a look and hoped she had the answer to her silent question. Artic gave her a small smile and held her hands up a little.

Ten. Ten More. Only ten more minutes.

Aira took a sigh of relief, then she looked towards Aero, he gave her an affirmative nod.

Aira felt grateful for her friends, then she took a deep breath and put on a neutral expression even though she really wanted to leave right now. She grandly raised her hands and hoped she remembered how to do it correctly so as not to agitate her mother for doing it incorrectly, and as she does, everyone stood up and bowed down to Aira. Aira took another deep breath as her wings ruffled a little, still quite nervous as she curtsied to everyone after. It was a show of respect and tradition her mother told her to do during her coronation after everyone had bowed down to her.

Then Queen Anastasia clapped her hands and as the music started to continue, everyone knew what to do next and everyone turned back to what they were doing and continue to celebrate. Aira stalked back down the dais and walked over to her table where Aero stood. Once seated, Aero told her everything would be okay and people were happy for her. Aira gave him a quick nod and started to eat the food Artic got for her.

Artic had always known what Aira did and did not like, so when she saw a few dishes that she either could not eat or disliked, she was confused. Artic was one of those experienced servers and friends, she had never gotten Aira's food order incorrectly before. After eating only half of what was given.

After eating, Aira wanted to leave, it was only 3 p.m. and the banquet ended at midnight, but she was done and she had not had many friends except for Artic and Aero, which were at a status her mother would not allow her to be friends with. So she decided to leave, she told Aero and Artic that there was no reason to stay there, and she stood up and started to walk back to her room.

Aira glanced back to Artic and Aero, feeling a little relieved when Aero smiled at her. However, Artic wasn't paying attention, as she kept turning her head back. Looking like she did not want to leave the banquet, which was very strange. Considering Artic had never wanted to stay in a room with so many people for more than three hours, she still followed Aira out of the hall regardless of any such.

Suddenly, just as she was about to leave, Aira felt dizzy and light-headed. Her vision blurred and all the people there looked like unclear spots in Aira's eyes. The last thing she heard was Artic calling her name just before her eyes started to close. Aero swiftly caught her by the arms, just as her eyes shut and she collapsed to the ground while the world around her slowly drowned in darkness.
