Serena
Serena stared at the paper napkin in her hands, not sure what to make of it. She hadn't thought it was real until a small thin smile played on the girl's...Artic's face as she left the table, walking back in the direction she came from. The rest of the night was a blur to her as Serena only thought about how she would move on from this point onwards. What was she supposed to do now? Actually, write a letter to her? Serena sat at her table and constantly looked back at the napkin at random times and kept it under the table, or at least, far away and hidden from her mother's gaze.
She had never thought she would like a servant, much less a...a girl.
She continued to half-heartedly eat the scones Artic had given and other dishes that were on the table and alternatively looked down at the note when her mother's attention was focused on something else other than just bothering her with questions and requests. After the announcement from the queen about the coronation, which Serena found quite useless, she folded the piece of paper carefully and shoved the note into one of the pockets in her dress before following her mother who had bowed down to Aira.
After the traditional 'show of respect,' Serena sat back down on her chair as she scanned the coronation banquet hall for a particular person. She was surprisingly not that worried when Aira started acting weird and when most guests were looking at her. She continued to look around the room until she saw a familiar clump of dark blue hair in the corner. Serena stared for a bit longer before she heard murmuring and turned her head to see what had happened.
When she saw the newly-crowned princess fall down and blackout, she honestly didn't really care, though she also remembered that her mother had asked her to make friends with her. However, she paid more attention towards Artic instead. She stared at Artic and was surprised when she found her doing the same. Her dark royal blue hair was tied up in a half-up, half-down style. Her eyes, oh. Serena could stare into those eyes forever, and she still wouldn't notice how long she had done so. Those dark navy irises and sky-blue pupils complemented each other so well. Serena was longing for nothing but to stare into them.
Her concentration broke when Artic had to leave the hall to accompany Aira back to her room because she was Aira's personal guard, and also the fact that her mother came back to the table and was watching the commotion at the entrance of the banquet hall. Her mother then sighed and glanced at her daughter.
"You should go make friends with Aira after she wakes up." Her mother told her, Serena found it quite annoying that her mother only remembered one thing, and that it was to make friends.
She decided to go and search for Aira soon, as her mother had been asking her repeatedly to go and learn about the Sky Queendom ( and make friends with Aira ), Serena had wondered why her mother needed information but she didn't question it as it usually came to make a lot more problems.
Serena then glanced from one side of the hall to the other, searching for any excuse she could make to leave the place as quickly as possible before her mother could ask again. When most of the guests left, Serena's mother turned her head towards her and raised a brow. Serena knew, for her mother had been pestering her for forever, that she should go to Aira's room now. She then stood up and walked out of the banquet hall.
As she was slowly wandering through the unknown hallways of the castle, she saw someone standing in front of a door. When she stepped closer towards the figure, she realised that the person she saw was the male guard who carried Aira when she had blacked out in the hall.
She walked up to him and lightly tapped him on his shoulder. He flinched a little but then immediately spun around in a defensive stance, but when he saw who it was that tapped him, he quickly dropped into a bow. Right after Serena had asked him to rise up she politely asked with a smile, "Ahem, Do you perhaps know where I could find Artic?"
Then she heard what she said, Wait..Artic? Shouldn't I be looking for Aira? and it was slightly too late to take it back without sounding weird.
When the guard heard what she said, he stayed silent for a while more to make sure she wasn't kidding before he simply just said, "Artic said that she would be going to get warm towels for Aira when she woke up, so she would be in the towel room." Serena smiled at him for a second time and thanked him, and then she turned around and looked through the hallways before she started walking in the direction she was supposedly heading towards. Still wondering why she was doing so.
