Aira

When I opened my eyes I was in a dark room with no light. Suddenly, a light shone and I saw someone kneeling in front of me. My extended talons gripped someone's neck tightly, the woman had the wings and colours of an albatross, but when I tried to let go of her neck I could not, then that's when I glanced at my talons. My eyes widen even more when I realised that these talons were not mine and yet they looked vaguely familiar to me. The albatross woman was trying to get the talons away from her and she was begging me to not kill her, I tried, again and again, to let go of her but I still could not let go. Then I gasped as these talons gripped even harder and snapped the albatross's neck, spewing bright red blood everywhere.

Aira jolted awake in cold sweat as she looked around the room slightly panicked and frightened, she was expecting maybe some kind of thing to pop up, something related to her dream-, no, her nightmare.

She was hoping that Artic would be there, beside her when she woke up. But that was a dumb thought, for Artic would likely be somewhere else. She sat up straight and frowned as she saw Aero sitting on a wooden chair that was placed beside her bedroom door, then she looked at him still shocked about the vision she had. She rubbed her eyes, her vision slightly blurry.

"Aero?" She whispered, her throat was somehow dry like she had been screaming for hours on end.

His eyes snapped open as he as well also scanned his surroundings. Then his eyes met hers, once he saw Aira sitting up on her bed he looked away from her relieved, and replied to her question she had not even asked yet, "Artic went to get some warm towels for you when you woke up, but she has yet to come back."

They looked at each other in awkward silence, Aero then told her he would be right outside her room, guarding the door. After he said that, he stood up and walked out of the room, leaving Aira to her own thoughts.

Aira sighed and leaned on the backrest of her bed, thinking about the vision she had.

What was that? That could not be true, could it? No no, why would anyone kill for no reason... It... It was terrible and to think anyone would kill...

Aira looked down at her hands and at that moment noticed that her talons were out, her mind replaying the scene that happened in her nightmare, she almost immediately retracted her talons. Her body was shaking with fear and dread, the person she killed in her dream- wait, no. She was not the person in the nightmare. Whoever the person was in the nightmare was a very wrong, horrible, and awful person.

Aira stopped leaning on the backrest as she laid back down on her bed and looked up at the ceiling, then with a small feeling, she sat back up and looked around the room and only stopped searching when her eyes caught the figure of the crown she was given during the coronation. She stared at the crown that was on her vanity, a feeling that told her she knew who it was, but couldn't remember due to the fact her mind was either too tired to function or it was clogged up with other thoughts.
