Aero

Once Aero told Aira that he would leave to guard the door outside, he then walked out of her room without another word. He stood outside her room, almost leaning on the door but still wasn't touching it. He frowned,

What is happening to me, I was not this nervous last year, why, why, why. She is the princess, should I check up on her? I should not disturb the princess, she looked stressed. But maybe...

Just as he was about to turn around and open the door, someone tapped him on his shoulder, he got in a defensive stance but stopped when he saw that it was the crowned princess of the albatrosses, Princess Serena. He immediately dropped into a bow.

The princess of the albatrosses asked him to stand up and he followed her order. She politely asked Aero, "Do you know where I could find Artic?" Aero was confused, and paused for a second until he replied, "Artic said that she would be going to get warm towels for Aira when she woke up, so she would be in the towel room."

The princess of the albatrosses just gave a nod of thanks as she walked off. Aero then waited before he opened the door to Aira's room and walked in. Aira looked up and saw Aero, she smiled and asked, "I thought you said you would be guarding the outside of my room." Aero replied with a crooked grin, "I know, but I have decided to wait till Artic comes back. I also saw the princess of the albatrosses, Serena. I have no idea why, but she was looking for Artic." He slightly rambled, a small detail both he and Artic shared. Aira blinked before she muttered, "Maybe she likes Artic, but I don't know." He nodded slightly at her statement, kind of confused.

Then he walked over to the table at the side of her room and sat down on one of the chairs. Turning his head, he looked out at the window to the landscape around the palace.

The landscape is beautiful, just like Aira. Aira must be right, maybe the princess of the albatrosses, likes Artic, why else would she want to see her?

He sat there thinking, observing the lands below them. It was around the evening the sun fell asleep, shielded behind three sloping, blue sky-high mountains, each smaller but still tougher than the one before. The trees were strong, black soldiers, standing in an unmoving row before them. The mountains and surrounding forest were awash in the pale red glow from the sun melting like molasses beneath the horizon.

He stared back at his hands and squinted a little before turning up to Aira and asking her, "Would you mind if I use one of your talon files?" She waved her hand nonchalantly, "Yeah, go ahead." Aero unsheathed his talons and grabbed a talons filer on the table. Aero started to file his talons, after a while of filing his talons, he thought his talons were sharp enough for fighting so he stopped filing and put the file back on the table as Aira turned her head towards the door.
