"Are you going to keep ignoring the fact that she's actually back now? Unnie, you said you've only been waiting for her," Chaeryeong worriedly asked.
"Perhaps I was sure about it before," Yeji chuckled bitterly. "Look, I know I said I was certain about waiting for her here, and I was, but I never considered that when she returns, everything will be different."
"Are you ready to let it go now?"
"I decided to let her go a long time ago, and when we broke up, I started accepting the fact that she's now free," Yeji admitted.
"However, your feelings for her..."
"I know it's stupid, but it's really fucking hard," Yeji admitted, her fist clenched. "She gave me the best things in life; she made me feel things and taught me to see beauty in everything; I don't think I'd ever let someone as precious as her go."
"Then why would you let her go? Why are you avoiding rather than actually trying to reconnect with her?" Chaeryeong questioned.
Yeji sighed heavily, attempting to calm herself and release the tension. Her heart has been pounding loudly because she is in a bar, sitting directly across from Ryujin.
She is aware that it is Ryujin.
Two months have passed since Ryujin returned from Canada. It took her nearly 7 years to return.
When she returned, she had the opportunity to speak with the girl and catch up on each other's lives. But nothing else happened because Yeji chose to avoid Ryujin.
Ryujin thought it was strange at first, but she believes Yeji is just trying to move on from their past and had forgotten about Ryujin. It hurts Ryujin to think that Yeji no longer cares about her.
The truth is that Yeji mistakenly thought Ryujin had forgotten about her.
"I knew you'd be successful one day. Look, the day has finally come. You're living the life you've been dreaming back then." Ryujin happily said as she looked at Yeji and studied the changes in Yeji's posture.
She looks are pretty as ever, way elegant and matured now to be certain.
"I'm so proud of you, Yeji. I've always been praying for you to achieve your dreams, and look at you now."
"Thank you, Ryujin." Yeji smiled, truly pleased at the joy in Ryujin's eyes.
She couldn't be more grateful to see someone who's genuinely happy to see her growth and success. Over the time, the only person who made her feel supported and appreciated is Ryujin and she couldn't be more grateful to have someone like Ryujin in her life once.
She could feel the love, support and joy of Ryujin for her.
"I know I wasn't there to see all of your hard works, but I know how passionate and hard working you are and I know you gave all your best just to be in a place where you are now." Ryujin uttered.
She's genuine happy to see Yeji independence in achieving her dreams on her own. But at some point, it pained Ryujin to realize that Yeji did it on her own, without her.
Ryujin wasn't able to witness all the things Yeji gave up and took in just to be the person she is now. Ryujin wished she was there in all the moments Yeji improved and succeed and wished she was also there to lift Yeji up when the girl had her most downful days.
But overall, Ryujin is so proud of the girl. At least, all the risks they had to take back then has been paid off.
"I appreciate how much you showed your support and to be honest with you, if not because of you showing your genuine support to me, this wouldn't happen too. Thanks for cheering me up a lot back then." Yeji uttered softly.
