Ryujin sat on the bench, nervous. She is waiting for the latter with bated breath. Today, she tried her best to look presentable but not overdressed for Yeji, holding a bouquet for the latter.
Today is the day she will take Yeji out for the last time in a long time.
Ryujin and Yeji dated for four years, and it was a tough journey for them. It was a rollercoaster ride, and the four years they spent together were the best of Ryujin's life. Having Yeji and being loved by Yeji made her feel everything and taught her a lot of things, especially about the beautiful things in life.
Unfortunately, life happens and everything seems to fall apart. Sure, there was a reason, but Ryujin decided it was best to leave it behind for the time being. She doesn't want to talk to Yeji about the breakup because today she just wants to take Yeji out and spend some quality time with her because after this, the two will split ways, which means Yeji will move from Jeonju to Seoul and Ryujin will spend a few years in Canada. Both will leave for both professional and personal reasons.
It's sad and heartbreaking because, even after their breakup, they still love each other more than they have in the previous four years.
After a few moments of silence, Ryujin was startled to hear Yeji's voice calling her. When Ryujin looked up and saw Yeji staring at her, she quickly stooped up, leveled the latter's height, and smiled faintly.
"Hey,"
"Hey..."
It was uncomfortable. They just stared at each other, silently admiring each other.
"Did I make you wait too long?" Yeji questioned softly.
Ryujin smiled and shook her head. "Don't worry, I was a little early for today," Ryujin said as she handed Yeji the flowers she had brought. "Um, some flowers for you..."
Yeji looked down at the lovely flower with wide eyes, and her heart melted. Yeji isn't the type of person who has flowers or other materials as her love language, but because Ryujin has it, she admires it.
Ryujin, after all, never changes. Even though this date differs from their previous dates, Ryuji manages to make it perfect.
"Thank you..." She happily accepted it before bringing the flower to her nose to smell its lovely scent. "After all, you're such a sweetheart."
Ryujin flushed and bit her bottom lip.
Ryujin and Yeji eventually began their date. Ryujin decided to go to the arcades because it was the last thing on their bucket list that they hadn't done together.
Yeji became ecstatic when she learned that they would be visiting arcades, as this is something she always looks forward to doing with Ryujin. It's a shame they never got to do it when they were still together, and it hurts to know that the date to go to arcades only has to happen in their favor because today is their final date before they split up.
Yeji tried her hardest to forget the pain and enjoy her time with Ryujin.
She was tensing up with Ryujin, but she is also the reason she is calming.
They finally arrived after a long wait. Yeji's eyes brightened when she noticed it was snowing outside.
It's nearly December, which is why it's getting cold in Korea. Yeji raised her palms to catch some snowflakes in her hand as she marveled at the scenery.
From behind, Ryujin questioned, "You like the snow?"
Yeji turned to look Ryujin in the eyes and nodded. "Yeah."
"You're still such a kid," Ryujin said with a cute grin.
Yeji thought it was adorable as she looked at Ryujin.
