This is also a requested story and I took it cuz y'know, it's angst!

Brett had been in love with his best friend Reagan for 8 months now, it was surprising knowing how long he could keep this secret of his. Knowing he's bad at keeping other people's secrets. He never told her anything, and always referred to her as his best friend, though by now it just made him feel weird. And even though he thought she would hate him if he ever told her how he really felt about her, there was one person who stood in the way of his chances, Staedtler. Now, Brett knew that Staedtler was gone, but the way he was ruining his chances was that Reagan just wouldn't stop complaining and saying she missed him. Brett obviously knew that she was sad about losing him, but it has been a year since that happened and Brett was honestly getting jealous at this point. Today was a rainy day for Cognito Inc. and not one of those fake rainy days they have, this one was real and it was pouring down like crazy. This meant that no one could do any missions till the rain stopped, but unfortunately, it was going to rain throughout the next day as well. Brett was hanging out with Reagan in her lab while she was working on an invention of hers, Brett didn't know what type of invention it was but he didn't bother asking because he didn't want to distract her. Though he could tell something was on Reagan's mind and he was hoping it wasn't Staedtler, again. He looked at the floor trying not to have even Staedtler in his thoughts. "Brett? What are doing back there?" Reagan asked him, he looked up from the floor and saw that Reagan was looking at him. "Oh! Uhh, just waiting!" He said. Reagan was confused, "Waiting? I didn't say that you couldn't help me, it's just I was caught up in my own thoughts again." Reagan slightly looked away, and Brett knew what was coming, it wasn't even surprising anymore. "It's about Staedtler, again. I really was hoping there would be some sort of lifetime that we would both be happy, maybe even have a kid and I wouldn't be a horrible parent." She said smiling, but it was only a fantasy to her, and to Brett? He was sick of her saying the same old shit. He knew how to sympathize with others, that was literally his superpower. But he couldn't take it anymore, hearing his own crush talk about how much she misses her ex made it difficult to even feel bad for Reagan. At first he did, but now doesn't. Brett wiped a tear from his eye knowing that he'll never be as good of a boyfriend, if he was going to ever be that, as Staedtler. She seemed way happier around her now ex-boyfriend than her 'best friend' "God! I can't deal with this anymore!" Brett said and ran out of Reagan's lab. Reagan was even more confused and got up. "Brett!?" She said his name and ran out of her lab doors. But he was already gone. "God damn it! Where the hell could he have gone?!" She then started to fastly walk to all the places in the building that Brett could've run off to, but she couldn't find anywhere. She stopped to think about where else he could possibly be. Her heart skipped a beat at the thought of where he went. "Fuck! Brett is outside!" Her heartbeat got faster as she ran through each hallway to get outside. She finally got outside in the pouring rain and saw Brett in the parking lot of cars. "Brett!!" She shouted out his name and ran to him. "Brett, please get back inside, you're going to get a cold!" She exclaimed, but Brett didn't care, instead, he turned around to face her. He was crying but the raindrops made it oblivious to Reagan. "I don't care whether I get sick or not! Why do you even care?" He asked her, his voice cracking in the process. "I care because you're my best friend, Brett!" Him hearing that term made him even more upset. "Yeah, Reagan! Best friend, is that all you see me as?!" He slightly shouted, Reagan was bewildered at this point, why was he saying these things and why was he acting this way? "Yeah!? What other way would I see you as, Brett? It's not like your Staedtler!" That was Brett's last straw, "My God, Reagan, do you honestly ever shut up about Staedtler?!" This time he was louder than before, and this took Reagan aback, it was like something was taking a hold of him. Like jealousy? "Brett, what the fuck is going on with you?! Are you jealous or something?" She asked, Brett just stood there and sighed. "Yeah! Maybe I am jealous, I'm so sick of you talking about him all the time, it's been a year, Reagan!" Hearing him say that made her want to fight back harder. "Well, you don't get to tell me who I can miss! You have no idea what it's like to lose someone who actually loves you because nobody does!" That sentence completely broke Brett's heart, but he wasn't going to stop there. "Wow, real mature of you, Reagan. You're so insufferable." Reagan was in disbelief when he said that. "Really? I'm the insufferable one? Look at yourself, Brett!" She was so pissed, but she wanted to know why in the world he was acting like this. This was not Brett whatsoever. "Why are you acting like this?! Tell me!" She yelled at him. "You really wanna know, Reagan?" He cried out. "Yes! I wanna fucking know!" She screamed, "Because I've fallen in love with you Reagan! I know I'll never get a chance with you. I'm sorry." He told her the truth, but Reagan didn't believe him. She didn't think that was the reason he could be that upset with her. He always called her his best friend, how could he be in love with her? "What!? Brett, you always say I'm your best friend. Prove to me that you feel that way!" She said and she suddenly felt Brett's lips on hers. The kiss lasted 10 seconds and Brett was the one to let go first. "There, happy?" Brett asked her, but Reagan didn't say anything, she just stood there in silence. She didn't know what to say after her best friend kissed her in the rain! "Is that enough proof for you Reagan? I'm doubtful you even feel the same way." In his mind, he knew that for a fact. "I-" Reagan stuttered, "I don't know, Brett. This is a lot of information to take in, just please be patient with me." She asked as politely as she could. Brett stayed quiet and nodded. He would never want to rush Reagan into a relationship, he was just jealous. He then started to walk away, Reagan turned around and asked, "Brett! Where are you going?!" She called after him, "I'm going home, bye Reagan." And he left, leaving Reagan standing in the parking lot with the pouring rain.
